@Victoria33
I don't lament the end of an enemy of Freedom and democracy.

He's worked with Kerry, Hillary, Obama, Bill, and other power leftists for years to undermine this country.  Just a few months ago he was in Europe publicly bad mouthing the United States and the POTUS.

 :amen:  He's despicable.

Most recently, refusing to step down from his Senate seat knowing full well that he was never returning and certainly knowing he can't do his job and cast a vote from home or his hospital bed.

In a nutshell, holding a Senate seat under the Republican umbrella and speaking out and voting as a Democrat.

My review of his voting records shows he didn't vote as a Democrat even in the age of Trump.  https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/congress-trump-score/
He scores 83% here with the vast majority of rats voting under 35%

He's a known associate of 2 Presidents and 2 Secretaries of State? diabolical!!!

McCain was at a Munich Security Conference in Feb and he most definitely didn't bad mouth the President

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-germany-security-mccain-trump-idUSKBN15W210
“I think that the Flynn issue obviously is something that shows that in many respects this administration is in disarray and they’ve got a lot of work to do,” said McCain, even as he praised Trump’s defense secretary.

“The president, I think, makes statements (and) on other occasions contradicts himself. So we’ve learned to watch what the president does as opposed to what he says,” he said.

That is not bad mouthing.  That's a truthful assessment and a kind one as well.

LOL. Thanks for the laugh. You do know you are trying to pump up a Progressive hack who is right now on his death bed lamenting he didn't pick a huge Pro Abortion guy like Joe Lieberman as his running mate instead of Sarah Palin, right?

Kinda funny how McCain sounds like a Democrat now. It's almost as if someone is speaking for him

Sure, he votes conservative if he knows it's going to pass or fail regardless of his vote....But it's what he does when it really matters, like the ObamaCare repeal that shows his true colors.

He scores a solid 32 % here:

Another area shows 35%
https://www.conservativereview.com/top-25-rinos/

I could not get the scorecard to show the rating of just the Senators but There are 22 pages of ratings and ratings 100-30 take the first 11 pages and is filled with mostly Republicans.  The last 11 pages do 30-0 ratings and is almost all rats.  Your score card show McCain voting like a Republican.

Thank you for your reply.

My reading is that McCain lament picking an unknown firebrand over his friend, and while I celebrated the choice of Palin at the time it is hard for me to argue she was a good choice now.

From the fine print of the 538 score page:

Spin it all you like, but he did not vote in a way that would earn respect from members of a forum like this one.  Now, if we were leftist democrats, yes, that would be a great score.

Lastly, your methodology is questionable.  Deciding upon a "Republican score" by counting pages has some problems.

I must have taken a wrong turn at Albequerque

I don't know why McCain regrets picking Palin.
It was the smartest move he made during that campaign, one fraught with some other bad decisions.
Her star has been tarnished a bit since, but in 2008, she was the best option, I thought.

Thats bad mouthing.   If he said that here in the US its one thing.  No he went to Germany and undermined the POTUS to foreign govts.

While at the same time pushing how important immigration was including that of muslims.

@Sanguine
he voted to kill the Obamacare repeal.  He was too sick to fly so he drive from Arizona to DC in order to vote No.

All because he hated Trump.

They will keep trashing him so I'm leaving the thread.  No point in reading it.

@Victoria33   One can admire your loyalty but, remember, McCain has not been loyal.  Sarah Palin went all out for him and helped him to win.  No loyalty there.

Yep!!  But apparently he loves the Bama ... he's asked him to speak at the funeral.  Maybe he didn't want to kill Obamacare out of love for Obama.

@driftdiver why you gotta go do that?  Have I been rude to you or dismissive?  I welcomed your reply and thanked you.  Do you think I am being sarcastic?  I am not.

I just don't know where to further the discussion.

He was responding to what I had said to you on Reply #88, so responding to my comments would be one way.  And, I'm not being sarcastic either.  I just find it hard to come to any mutual understanding when there is no mutual.

As far as I'm concerned.... anyone that likes Obama is an enemy of and/or threat to America by virtue of their:

A) stupidity,
B) apparent anti-Americanism,
C) clueless state of being,
D) all of the above

And IMHO....McCain has fit all the criteria for quite some time now.
No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

You can vote your way into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out of it.
