Famed lawyer Alan Dershowitz said Monday the list of open-ended questions special counsel Robert Mueller reportedly wants to ask President Trump may have been specifically drafted to trip Trump up if he provides long-winded responses.

"They are really designed to let him ramble and talk, and I suspect that's the strategy of the special counsel because they know that may be President Trump's weakness," Dershowitz told CNN.

"If they were to ask him direct, tough questions to which he can answer yes or no, that might not give them the advantage they are seeking," he continued.

I'm so confused.  I thought .... it had already been established that Trump is not under criminal investigation and/or is not a target of Mueller (supposedly).  Since Trump can't be indicted, what the hell are these questions for?   Why should Trump even consider answering any of these leaked questions?  Who the hell does Mueller (apparently yet another crooked cop leaker) think he is???

A person's status in an investigation, say a witness, can change to subject or target based on what comes out of the investigation.  If Trump lies when answering the questions, he is then a target.  Mueller didn't leak the questions - he gave them to Trump's lawyers, then they were leaked.  Several days ago, I read Trump himself is leaking information when he wants it out in the public.  I had not thought of that, but when I read that, I remembered when in his business, he would call a newspaper using a fake name and give them info. on Trump so it would get in the newspaper, so Trump may have leaked the questions himself.

I totally agree with Dershowitz, he is an expert on law.  Trump would lie if he talked a while because that is what he does; it is a part of him.  That is what Dershowitz is saying, let Trump talk and he will trip himself up.

Right right.....and all the leaks involving information from inside the Mueller investigation over the last year has come from Trump because Bobby is running all the stuff he learns across Trumps desk. That makes perfect sense.

Those questions are designed to elicit contradiction. Think you have nothing to hide? A practiced interrogator can show otherwise.

First of all, unless I am mistaken or have been misinformed....Trump is not a ""witness""... and therefore is under no obligation to answer those questions.

Secondly, it has been Mueller and his team that have been leaking all along (see below).  The only ones accusing Trump of having leaked these questions are the idiot leftists. 

It is much more likely that Mueller is getting desperate for some semblance of something "new" coming from his failed fishing expedition....so he is coming up with whatever he can to throw shade on Trump.

And lastly, I don't for a minute think that you didn't think of it... that it was Trump leaking, not Mueller.  Your sentiments re: Trump have been made crystal clear (by you) for some time now.

It's clear that this phony investigation of "Russian collusion" has been allowed to morph into an "anything we can get on Trump" hunt, now using an "obstruction of justice" (for which Mueller himself is guilty of) charge for the latest-du-jour excuse to keep it going AT TAXPAYERS' EXPENSE.
