FBI’s McCabe accuses Comey of lying about meeting on media leak

Fired FBI Director James B. Comey went to bat for Andrew McCabe on Jan. 29, tweeting that his onetime deputy director “stood tall when small people were trying to tear down an institution we all depend on.”

But inside the Justice Department last year, the two men, who had run the bureau as a team before both were fired nearly a year apart, were locked in a bitter dispute over who was telling the truth. They provided “starkly conflicting accounts” about a pivotal private meeting that helped lead to Mr. McCabe’s firing, an investigation has found.

Mr. McCabe’s attorney basically accused Mr. Comey of lying, or at least of lacking credibility, in testifying about a conversation the two had over a leak to The Wall Street Journal. The attorney said the Justice Department inspector general was anointing Mr. Comey as a “white knight carefully guarding FBI information while overlooking that Mr. McCabe’s account is more credible.”

I read that and the Inspector General believed Comey rather than McCabe.  I would trust the Inspector General to determine which version was correct.

Only.....the Inspector General apparently wasn't bright enough to gleen that both are/were lying and trying to cover their @sses.... like lefties are wont to do... at all times and in every situation.

Unless you were there while all this was going on, you cannot know who was lying about what.  That is part of the Inspector General's job.

If you want to know the truth, here is the link to the 35 page Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on McCabe.  It includes the conversations between McCabe and Comey and why Horowitz believed Comey.

Thanks.  When I get time to read it.  Unfortunately, it won't be till tonite... since I have cultivating a garden to do today.  And it's another beautiful (dry) day so... and is warming up enough as we speak.....

Congrats on the garden.  I did container gardening because I can't bend down to dirt anymore.  The last time I did container growing, I had over 100 containers of food growing and I sprouted seed for this food inside my house with a grow lamp.  I had not grown any food, ever, and needed to teach myself to grow from seed and keep the plants alive until they produced.  I grew numerous kinds of tomatoes to see which grew best where I lived.  I keep a large amount of seed stored in case I have to grow food.  There is a chapter on food growing in my emergency book.
