President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans broke their promise to conservative voters by giving Planned Parenthood approximately $500 million in taxpayer funding in the omnibus spending bill that Trump signed into law on Friday.

Trump, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and other Republican leaders promised their voters for years that they would defund Planned Parenthood if given the chance to govern.

Now, with Republican majorities in the House and Senate and a Republican in the White House, the nation’s number one killer of unborn children will continue receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer funding.

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said he voted against the spending bill in part because it provided taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood.

“It continues to fund Planned Parenthood, a corrupt organization whose horrifying abortion practices should preclude it from receiving taxpayer dollars,” Cruz said.

Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul also voted against the omnibus bill, citing the legislation’s Planned Parenthood funding.

Looks like @TomSea is going to be jumping on the Cruz bandwagon after he hears about this.

He sure is throwing away all the support he had over some phony military spending that is going to end up in the pockets of defense contractors. What a silly boy.

They do "some good things"...

So it's all good...

Isn't that what Hannity just said about Trump excusing him?

Not only does it fund them, it doesn't even cut their funding. I checked some old archive articles to see how much they receive and it was $500 million annually.

I'm also curious how much was given to them in the February bill. Considering they are doing short term bills, they may actually be greatly increasing PP's funding by putting it in each of these stopgap bills.

The porkulus spending bill is bad enough, but this kind of stuff they packed in there makes me done with the whole DC GOP.

You and me both!  I'm also now on board with a convention of states even though I have very little hope that such a convention will help matters one bit.

Who knows they might come up with a way for States to leave the Union in a peaceful way.

This is interesting... the stopgap bill in February also fully funded Planned Parenthood.

So if this bill provided $500 Million to PP + the February bill continued their regular annual funding.. what this basically means is we now have DOUBLED Planned Parenthood's funding.

Don't know.  If he is, he's wasting his time with that in the case od Ted Cruz  who is the ONLY one I will vote to return to Washington.   The rest, including Kevin Brady, whois my congressman, can go straight to hell.  I'll vote for his democrat challenger before I vote for him in November.

Sorry.... but.... I'll never bring myself to vote for ANY Democrat.  I, like most disgruntled conservative voters, will just refrain from voting rather than that.  JS....

A fact which should sufficiently piss off enough Conservative and/or rightie voters to hand the victory this November over to the rats....

all as intended and designed via this latest Crapulous legislation.

Nah.  He'll come back to lecture us that he still support's Trump because Trump defeated ISIS (when he did no such thing at all) - and because Trump is still the most Conservative president we have ever had.

@XenaLee

If it gets to that point with me, it will be because there was no Libertsrian, Constitution Party, or independent on the ballot but I will not vote for Brady or Cornyn under any circumstance.

I do not understand this line of thinking.  If the Oligarchy in DC doesn't follow the existing limits the Constitution places upon it now, and government continually circumvents it or outrightly ignore it when it does not serve their corrupt needs - why are we stupid enough to think that passing MORE Amendments to impede them is going to work any better?
