Thomas Massie (R-KY) talks about the gun control play that Congress is about to enact next week.
It employs the absolute worst aspects of the Obama-era NICS law that was updated by Schumer and Feinstein called 'FixNICS' that was shoved into the now-defunct National Carry-Conceal reciprocity bill that expands the database that bans targeted groups and classes of people from owning, possessing firearms, or even ammunition, starting with veterans.
The FixNICS bill that Schumer and Feinstein shoved into the failed Reciprocity Bill is now it's own standalone bill without any Carry Conceal Reciprocity language in it at all. It is an expansion of adding anyone to the NICS database without their knowledge or ability to appeal.
Massie predicted they would go down this path last December in an interview with David Horowitz wherein he said that the plan was to wait until 'the next crisis' (school shooting) and then push for the Feinstein-Schumer FixNICS bill WITHOUT any provisions for the protection of 2nd Amendment Rights or exercise.
Well, that happened after the Florida Shooting. The school shooting in KY in January failed to galvanize the gun grab movement over how the Conservatives in that area responded to the shooting, and it took the shooting in Florida to put the bill into go-mode.
Massie then elaborates on how the GOP leadership, has deliberately deceived them about honoring a promise not to bring the Schumer/Pelosi bill to the floor if there is no language similar or identical to H.R. 38 - the CCL Reciprocity Bill. Massie warned them that the Reciprocity Bill was just a Trojan Horse and that the Fix NICS bill would come back without any Reciprocity or 2nd Amendment protections in it.
The goings on at the VA to strip vets of their Rights to arms without due process (Seize the guns first - due process later) is simply a primer program to go national with Fix NICS which Congress is going to pass this coming week. Massie describes quotas being required in the Cornyn/Feinstein/Schumer Fix NICS Senate version of the bill that requires worked at the VA to add names to the database that strips vets of their right to possess arms or ammunition. They will market this as fixing the problems with the NICS system that failed to stop the shooter in Florida from purchasing guns. The Fix NICS bill would have done nothing to have prevented the Florida shooting if it were in place at the time. That the FBI deliberately ignored warnings about Cruz was not going to do anything to add Cruz to the NICS database.
Massie says the GOP leadership announced that they are bringing FixNICS to the floor next week for a vote H.R. 4909, and sugar coat it as a stopping school violence act. It is expected to pass, as the leadership is pushing this.
