It's 10:32 pm central time and Fox News just reported one bomb and two men in hospital but calls to cops were two bombs.  Don't yet know if there was two bombs.

Bombmakers fairly often, get blown up with their own bombs. That's just an observation on what has historically happened. This could be anything still with the few details we have.

This new area is a very middle to upper middle class area.  Austin is pretty diverse, but east of 35 is generally minority and west of 35 is generally hipster/upper/middle class Austin.  Oak Hill is a very desirable area to be in.  This just gets stranger and stranger.

Explosion in Austin seriously wounds two men, authorities say, as city remains on edge after deadly package bombs

AUSTIN — Austin police are investigating an explosion in a residential area on the city’s southwest side that caused multiple injuries, authorities said Sunday night.

Two men in their 20s were injured in the explosion on the 4800 block of Dawn Song Dr. They were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, Austin-Travis County EMS officials said on Twitter. The injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, officials said.

It is not yet clear whether Sunday’s explosion is related to three package explosions this month that claimed the lives of a 17-year-old high school student and a 39-year-old construction worker, and seriously injured a 75-year-old woman, as The Washington Post reported last week.

***

They were telling cops returning to the scene they can't come up Republic of TX Blvd because of evidence gathering. That's over a block away - must've been a hell of a blast. The initlal call is on Eagle Feather and a secondary (which backs up to the Eagle Feather address), warning everybody that there are "trip wires in the grass". This was meant for mass carnage.

The only defense I can think of off hand is setting up cameras on your property that record everything 24/7 and if anything unusual shows up check the video before doing anything with it.

If I get blown up, at least they'll have some evidence on what went on beforehand.

I am not there.  I am three hours northwest of there.  I am about 30/40 minutes northwest of Dallas.  Go south to Dallas, get on Hwy. 35, and drive south two hours, thirty minutes, later into Austin on that highway.  The bombs are west of Hwy. 35 in Austin.

Oh thank G-d. I'm worried about everyone here who lives in Texas.

Keep in mind the size of Texas.

Beaumont, Texas is closer to both Topeka, KS and Jacksonville, FL than El Paso, Texas.

Amarillo, Texas is closer to both East St. Louisville, IL and Casper, WY than Brownsville, Texas.

El Paso is closer to both Los Angeles, CA and Cheyenne, WY than Beaumont, Texas.

California is a longer distance from its Northern border to it's Southern Border than East West or North South in Texas, the 3 largest states Texas, California and Montana all can fit into size of Alaska.

Early reports are saying "trip wire".

http://abcnews.go.com/US/explosion-austin-men-injured-authorities/story?id=53841032

The guys who got hurt last night were in their 20s, I'll bet the bomb-maker is like in his 30s/40s.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — An explosion that may have been detonated by a tripwire tore through Texas’ capital and injured two people, leading police to warn nearby residents to remain indoors overnight as investigators looked for possible links to three package bombings elsewhere in the city this month.

The latest blast occurred around 8:30 p.m. Sunday in a southwestern Austin residential neighborhood known as Travis Country, which is far from the sites of the three earlier bombings. Those all occurred over two-plus weeks in residential neighborhoods east of Interstate 35, which divides the city. Although investigators wouldn’t immediately confirm what caused the blast, Austin’s police chief, Brian Manley, said “a device” was responsible and again warned the public not to touch any unexpected packages left at their homes.

“What we have right now is a scene where it is obvious that an explosion has taken place,” Manley said at a hastily organized news conference near the site of the latest blast.

The two victims were both in their twenties and their injuries were not deemed life-threatening, Austin-Travis County EMS said. They were either riding or pushing bikes when the explosion took place, authorities said.

Austin Police Chief Brian Manley said at a press event early Monday morning that the explosion was the result of a bomb going off, possibly caused by a trip wire. ...

The bomb-maker, surely got his components from somewhere, I'll bet law enforcement is checking hardware stores, Home Depot, places like that. Also, nowadays, people can buy things online.  A sophisticated bomb-maker sadly. Actually, Louisiana Government even sent out a warning to their residents when the second explosion happened. So, really, this could happen about anywhere at this point.  The USA article says they found a backpack. Maybe that will have some sort of evidence.

That cyclists got hit, must have scared the beejeebers out of them, this shows, this is likely now, pretty random in whom the terrorist bomb-maker targets.

Cyclists took these explosions per news coverage:
https://news.sky.com/story/two-men-injured-in-fourth-texas-explosion-11296550

So, to me, this sounds random. Also, backpack found at the scene, could have been a tripwire and could have been detonated at the scene per pulling the string or something like that.

It raises the possibility of a 2nd bomber or that the bomber was unhappy with the "targeting minorities" narrative.
