Given one of those DBE awards, Dame? of the British Empire? I know that doesn't sound right but her website calls her Dame Gracie Fields:

I heard Willie Nelson has cancelled a few shows due to breathing problems. The man is 84 years old.

David Bowie passed away on January 10, I believe 2 years ago. A lot of news articles out there on him.

Addendum, wow is that Pat Benatar song above very good... really, that's probably my favorite by her, Shadows of the Night, now there's some '80s music for you, a lot of good songs.

In 1972, Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff had put together an album's worth of songs aimed specifically at the Dells, and more specifically
at their lead singer Marvin Junior. At about the same time, Harold Melvin discovered the drummer in his touring band had a voice
somewhat similar to Marvin Junior---a kid named Theodore Pendergrass. Gamble and Huff had just launched Philadelphia International
Records and landed a big distribution deal with CBS and were hoping to lure the Dells to the label, but Chess (the parent of the Dells'
label Cadet) wouldn't let them go. They caught onto the Blue Notes with Pendergrass moved out from the drum kit and into the lead
singing slot and gave them the songs they'd meant for Marvin Junior. Including . . .

In 1968, Elton John tried to commit suicide after relationship problems with a woman, Linda Woodrow. Bernie Taupin, the lyricist, and Baldry[11] found him and Baldry talked him out of marrying her, helping make Elton John comfortable with his sexuality. The song "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" from Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy was about the experience.[12]
