Trump visits US troops at Walter Reed

President Trump is visiting wounded U.S. soldiers on Thursday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center just outside Washington, D.C.
 
“We'll be over there for a while, but we're just going to wish them a merry Christmas,” Trump told reporters as he left the White House.
 
He called the soldiers “some of the bravest people anywhere in the world.”
 
The visit comes one day before Trump is scheduled to leave the nation’s capital to spend the holidays at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.

President Trump bestowed the Purple Heart to a wounded Army lieutenant on Thursday during his visit with injured U.S. soldiers at Walter Reed National Medical Center.

The president gave the medal to First Lieutenant Victor Prato, 25, who was wounded in November during a deployment to Afghanistan where an IED blast caused his vehicle to roll over, inflicting multiple soft tissue injuries.

Trump visited service members of all military branches at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington, D.C., keeping with a longstanding tradition of presidents visiting wounded soldiers during the holidays. Trump called them, "some of the bravest people anywhere in the world."

“We'll be over there for a while, but we're just going to wish them a Merry Christmas,” Trump told reporters on his way to the hospital from the White House.

Why @mystery-ak was it necessary to hide the President's awarding the Purple Heart?

I made this a separate thread for a reason ... it deserved to be.

Are we no longer allowed to post threads that honor our military and the CIC separately from benign, BS threads?

Just let me know @mystery-ak ... and I'll stop honoring our troops and the CIC they respect and love on this forum.

In a blatant attempt at getting this thread back on topic, I'm sure this cheered up most (if not all) of the troops over at Walter Reed.  Good job by the President and good job by VP Pence to visit the troops in Afghanistan.
