Trump certainly didn’t help

If anything, Nassau County and the Town I live in skewed even harder to the democrats.  Next year is probably going to be a metaphoric bloodbath, with the democrats taking back Congress.

Yeah. It had nothing to do with the GOP in the state being demoralized after 2 terms of one of the most corrupt and incompetent Govs the country has seen since Rod Blagojevich.

Deservedly so.

No.  It has to do with every republican getting tarred and feathered with the Trump brush.

Perhaps.  But the dems will now have unfettered rein to remake the country in their ersatz socialist mood.

Nassau County used to be Republican and has been drifting Democrat for half a century. Hell, Queens was split back then.

Half the population of the country prefers Socialism, and it is being taught to every kid in public school, and has been for decades.

We chucked out the foundational principles of the entire country and have declared them evil.  What did we think was going to happen?

Having unfettered rein to remake the nation into the image of Marx is inevitable at this point, especially when most government institutions are wholly corrupt.

No, it has to do with the changing demographic from human to government worker. I could see the change in 1968 when I was at Fort Belvoir.

Heck, we've had unfettered reign to remake the country these last eleven months,  and haven't done much of anything.

A determined and united minority can frustrate the majority.   I give the Dems credit for being perfect, uncompromising obstructionists.    Maybe we'll have the opportunity in a couple of years to return the favor.

Really? Most of the ads I watched on that race kept bringing up Christie Creme, the most hated gov in the US. I also bet you think it was a brilliant idea to run a candidate from the government of the most hated gov in the US too.

And say what you will about Trump, but he energized a lot of people more than any other Republican could, by far.

But outside of Trump, who is there in the GOP that is capable of energizing anyone?    The Democrats are going to be plenty energized for 2018,  and that's how they always are when they don't have the White House,  doesn't matter if it's Trump, or Bush, or whomever. That's just facts.

I have a hard time believing you ever voted GOP.

I was reading an analysis of the House tax plan in IBD this morning, and it supports a lot of what you've been saying, especially about the failure to index for inflation.  But you are going to have a very difficult time trying to get other TBR members to consider your evaluation of that aspect of it when you keep using the line, "Tax cuts for the rich" and "oligarchs" in your every comment.

I think you have good points, but you are ruining them by couching them in Democrat class-warfare terminology.

How is winning in a state that Hillary won comfortably "reviving"?

They are always "energized" when they aren't in the White House, no different than with Bush.

Loser Santorum blames Virginia on Trump, but he forgets he lost his Senate re-election bid by 17% back in 2006.  In a State that Trump won.

Which party is most likely to reduce the amount of government workers?

Honestly, nethier one of them, but the perception is that the Republicans would be that party.
A lot of government workers live in No. Virginia, and as long as there are government employees voting there, they will vote to keep their jobs.
I don't expect VA. to ever go red in a statewide or national election for a long time to come, although it has happened in the no too distant past.

And a frickin' Tranny got elected to the State Legislature.   That's just Republican voters being plain lazy and unenergized.    Milquetoasts, like Gillespie aren't going to get it done.

There you go again....

Not only do GOP leaders LIE when they say everyone will get a tax cut...
and their LYING media whores repeat that LYING  mantra... not only do
my own GOP congressman and senators ignore me when I call their offices
to point out how they will be increasing taxes on me and millions of others...
but when I post those facts here... on "gopbriefingroom".... posters here
attack me with MORE LIES !!

If there is justice in the universe the LYING GOP is going DOWN !!

The fact that a tranny got elected speaks more to my point than to yours.

The Dems are emboldened by Trump.   And more than likely, Republican voters' laziness is because of him too.

But keep thinking we all need to hug him tight, and the world will be all better if that makes you feel good.

Just now FOX business news was again touting the LYING GOP tax plan.
They were pointing out how high the stock market has risen since Trump
and his tax cuts for the rich were elected.  Dow up 28%,  Nasdaq up 30%.
They were singing their "happy days are here again" mantra... not realizing
that what goes up in record time can also come down in record time.
