Any other predictions and articles, etc. are welcome.

Detroit has now won their first two games, so the above predictions are off to a bad start with that but otherwise, I think they look fairly good.

The CAPS' Alex "Ovie" Ovechkin scores a "Hat Trick" in each of their first two games.

An annual outdoor showdown to welcome in the new year, this season's rendition is all about the Big Apple, as the Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers will square off at Citi Field, home of MLB's New York Mets.

I believe this will be on NBC at 12 noon, CST.  About an hour from now.

Washington Capitals vs. Vegas Golden Knights,

Right before the post season began, I found a Washington Capitals jersey for a low price at a garage sale... then, the post season opens up, the Capitals dropped their first two games against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

I think the Capitals have a good chance to defeat Vegas.... seems like a fairly evenly matched series.

I have a college classmate who is a Capitals fan and she is over the moon with excitement for her team making it this far.

On the other hand,  you have Vegas, a team that didn't even exist last year. The league said they wanted Vegas to be competitive quickly. Whatever they did, it worked... probably a bit TOO well, considering how many teams have been struggling for many years now.

Part of me admires the heck out of what Vegas has done. Part of me wonders what kind of message it would send that starting a new roster from scratch is an effective way of building a winner. You could have a team fold, then try and re-enter the league just to get a competitive advantage.

That said, I'd be happy if either team won.

Congratulations.

Yeah!

It feels weird, truthfully.   That it's over.

I'm locked in a "one more hurdle, one more series" mentality.

Odd story in the NHL:
Quote
Mike Hoffman traded twice, ends up on Panthers amid cyberbullying investigation involving his fiancee

Mike Hoffman was traded twice Tuesday morning, going from the Senators to the Sharks to the Panthers, nearly a week after allegations surfaced that his fianceé harassed Ottawa captain Erik Karlsson's wife online.

The first deal sent Hoffman, ECHL defenseman Cody Donaghey and Ottawa's fifth-round choice in the 2020 draft to San Jose for veteran forward Mikkel Boedker, defenseman Julius Bergman and a sixth-round draft choice in 2020.

Senators general manager Pierre Dorion said in a statement that the trade "showcases our determination to strengthen the future of the team by improving chemistry, leadership and character in the locker room and on the ice."

The article goes on to discuss the revolting conduct by the fiancee, yes, crossing the line.
