That one always chokes me up.

Ira Hayes - Johnny Cash
Error 404 (Not Found)!!1
Peter La Farge wrote this classic.  June Carter Cash on accompanying vocals, well done.

Bandy, the Rodeo Clown - Moe Bandy
Error 404 (Not Found)!!1
Another fine one, I'd say....

Moving some of these from the "Share" thread, so as to not post too many songs in it.

corbe:
Don Williams - I Believe In You

Willie Nelson - 1997 - Funny How Time Slips Away

Jason Eady: Cry Pretty

TomSea:
It's all up to the listener but one thing I know is that you don't hear female vocal back up like you do in some of the old songs and that makes them gems... as in ... (and I'm not going to repost Johnny Horton those are in the "Share" thread but his songs did it well too such as "The Mansion You Stole", great backing female chorus or vocals):

Wynn Stewart - It's Such A Pretty World

No female choruses, I think those were already starting to disappear in the '70s,  Earl Thomas Conley left the central country music industry because he thought the modernity and commercialism wasn't too good, some harken back to Patsy Cline, etc. and that is good.

Good female backing vocals here:

Connie Smith - Tiny Blue Transistor Radio
Error 404 (Not Found)!!1

Now, I don't think this is in particularly a great song, it is pretty good but the lyrics:

"... and the man at the radio station made a special dedication to Jimmy... etc. " okay,

Compare to Gram Parsons' "Return of the Grievous Angel":

"...and the man on the radio won't leave me alone". I've got to think Gram Parson heard Connie Smith's song of a few years before, not a big deal.
Gram Parsons - Return of the Grievous Angel

Real good, great but maybe not on the same par as the others.... he died very young, he could have gained a bit more experience and was on the right track definitely.

BTW, today is the 9th? August 16th is when Elvis passed away, so, if I'm not here, one might remember that....

TomSea:
My favorite Don Williams song, "I'm just a country boy"...

Don Williams - "I'm Just A Country Boy"
Error 404 (Not Found)!!1
One of his two best in my humble opinion.....

James Thomas Conley - Smokey Mountain Memories
Error 404 (Not Found)!!1
Mel Street recorded this in the mid-70s, Street suffered from depression and sadly killed himself. Conley wrote this song, pretty decent.
