150 MD-530s may be headed to Afghanistan

WASHINGTON — The Defense Department has awarded a nearly $1.4 billion contract for MD-530F Cayuse Warrior attack helicopters for Afghanistan.

The contract was awarded to MD Helicopters to procure an estimated 150 MD-530F Cayuse Warrior attack helicopters, according to a DoD contract report release.
