That is horrible.  I heard that the US was sending in planes to get the US citizens out.  It's become very dangerous with a lot of looting.

The models sort of botched this one.  Best case would keep it on due-west for several more hours, then finally making the turn and landfall around the Big Bend.  Worst case is a similar reemergence in the Gulf, followed by restrengthening and landfall in Tampa Bay.

Reports are that it is currently making the turn North. Downgraded to Cat 3, which of course, is a whole lot better than a Cat 5. They are worried that it may loop West over the gulf, which would cause it to gain strength.

It's coming. You'll have to be on the third story to avoid storm surge on the coast.

If one pays attention to the tv news, the hurricane Irma is headed right towards Florida.

But if one has observed this map over the past couple of days:

... we see the REAL path of the hurricane, which keeps moving... westward.

Now I'm not sayin' that it will never change direction and head northward.
But...
... it doesn't seem to be going in the directions as predicted...

That is what I saw. Looking at the GOES East. Looked like it was practically past Florida.
