Many journalists reacted breathlessly to a New York Times report on Sunday revealing that President Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., met with a Russian lawyer who indicated she had damaging information about Hillary Clinton.

Donald Jr. admitted to the June 2016 meeting — to which he brought campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Trump adviser Jared Kushner — but downplayed its significance. “Obviously I’m the first person on a campaign to ever take a meeting to hear info about an opponent,” he wrote on Twitter Monday morning, adding that the meeting “went nowhere” but that he “had to listen.”

Nobody is forgetting.  It's just that...as we're reminded on an hourly basis...Hillary isn't the President.

Trump is and that's what makes his dealings and his families dealings in this instance far more worthy of scrutiny and headlines than Her Thighness.

@kevindavis that's been the go to defense since day one.

And just what exactly did Trump do that deserves "scrutiny" the FBI has spent almost a year on RussiaGate and has not found a damn thing that Trump did that was illegal or unethical.

The lawyer is flatly denying any Kremlin connection. Should be easy enough to validate and I suspect they'll find nothing they can use, as usual.

So unless opposition research is suddenly illegal/unethical there's nothing here. As usual.

But let the usual crowd knock themselves out.

This whole thing is absurd.  However, I wouldn't be surprised to see Trump pull a Palin in a year or two, step down and say he can't get his political and economic agenda moved forward with the constant distraction.

Of ourse they are going to deny it. They are already dealing with sanctions because of hacking, do they need more?   The email exchange was daming enough, and Trump Jr may face something Hillary did not, prison time, for purgery and false statements if nothing else.
