I'll admit I had one thing dead wrong - on the morning after the election, I said that Trump was like the dog who caught the car. He isn't - he's known what he's wanted to do from the start, and has been pressing his agenda.
Trump had plans because, it appears, despite all the conventional wisdom he knew he had a shot at winning. It was the GOP Congressional leadership who turned out to be the dog that caught the car. I suspect GOP leadership in its wildest dreams didn't think it would wake up on the day after the election with control of both houses of Congress AND a GOP President that would sign whatever legislation it gave him. That shock, and the leadership's apparent lack of plans, has led directly to the current situation where the Congress has seemingly spit the bit and been mired in bickering and paralysis.
Health care reform, tax reform, tort reform - where the hell is it all? Pass the bills, GOP caucus, the President will sign them. I fear an historic opportunity will soon be gone with the wind.
