There are many government recognitions/celebrations during Black History Month. Why is it so wrong to have the same for us gay folks during Gay Pride Month?

What exactly do we need to celebrate about homosexuality?  The parades where they break public decency laws?  The sex they have?  If you want to be gay be gay but don't force us all to celebrate the way you like to have sex.

Furthermore there shouldn't be gay, black, Hispanic, Chinese............ or any other pride month.  We are America.  These things only serve to divide us into groups.  Divide and make one group or another victims.  You aren't a victim and we don't need to baby you so you feel OK inside.

To acknowledge the history of prejudice and history of hate against them? Kinda like those who support keeping Confederate monuments/symbols/flags in place? Here in Alabama (Roll Tide!), Jefferson Davis' birthday is still celebrated as a holiday.

Nothing like that at all.  You defeat any argument you might make by bringing in ridiculous comparisons to the Civil War.  The Confederacy was full of good men including my Grandfather and, although I'm not a huge fan of Jefferson Davis, his birthday is as relevant as that of Martin Luther King whose birthday is a National holiday.

It's not what any of the government institutions charged with keeping the country secure and safe should be focused on...but sadly it's what we're forced to do.

Whether being gay is a matter of behavior or genetic tendency, it is absolutely none of the government's business, either to disparage or to celebrate.

But if the FBI wishes to pay proper homage to its gay heritage, it should publish one of those very special photographs of J. Edgar Hoover wearing a dress.

Big difference between celebrating Black History Month and trying to promote a sexual perversion as a good thing and something to be proud of.

I'm a bit confused here.  What, exactly, is there to celebrate or feel pride about? 

If one is born with black skin, why would one feel the need to celebrate that happenstance of birth, much less to feel pride because of it?  It was nothing the person did.  It just happened that way.

Same goes for being gay.... if it is, as gays proclaim, merely how they were born... vs. a choice they made.  How do you take credit for and/or feel pride over how you were born when you had nothing to do with that? 

And if you can justify that....ie taking pride in how you were born.... then how the hell can you (some folks, not you personally) then denigrate, criticize and/or demonize anyone 'else' for having pride in how 'they' were born.... which would necessarily also include anyone born Caucasian or anyone born heterosexual?

This is one of the things I expected Trump to do.   I was hoping he was going to pleasantly surprise me,  but so far,  nope.   


This was a major reason why I preferred Cruz.   I knew Trump would default to a lot of socially liberal positions,  this stuff among them.

As a social liberal, Trump will carry forth the amoral leftist agenda seeking America's continued cultural decline and eventual destruction.

That is the primary reason some of us argued vociferously against his nomination.

It's clear the Republican party elite/Trump now agree with the left, and that is the reason many of us who are social conservatives have been forced out of the party.

I'm a white man. When white men first got here, the skraelings (What the vikings called the natives) hunted them down. We was oppressed! Do we have a White man's history month? Nope. A United White Folks' College Fund? nope. Viking Awareness Day? missed it...

How about Heterosexual Pride marches? Uh-uh.

If you want to be equal, be equal.

Trying to one-up everyone else just gets tedious. I don't give a darn what you do in the privacy (yes, PRIVACY) of your own home with a consenting adult. None of my business, as long as you aren't breaking any laws.

Why even be bothered to wave a flag and have all that stuff unless you're recruiting? What is the point of being so conspicuous if you want to be 'equal'? No one else is doing that stuff. Which leads me to the conclusion someone has a messed up idea of what equality is.

Equality isn't paybacks, it isn't imposing wrong on people who never wronged you--that only fires up another cycle of resentment and when (not if) the pendulum swings in a different direction it will come back harder than ever. If you want equality, if you want live and let live acceptance, the present course of action just might be contraindicated.

Just trying to point out the glaring and obvious hypocrisy of anyone that thinks they should celebrate the color of their skin OR their (supposedly) natural born sexual proclivities.... even while demonizing anyone else for NOT being born with dark skin or homosexual.  It, like everything else the idiot left espouses, makes no logical, reasonable sense.  But yeah.... I think I'll start an Irish-Cherokee straight pride month!  It's November, by the way....hehe.

My usual response to anyone who takes over much pride in something they just are - black, white, gay, double jointed, redheaded, whatever - is "Your life must be a real waste of oxygen if that's what you're proud of."
