The Lid

Jun 7, 2017

At a public hearing Wednesday members of the House Oversight Committee blasted former President Barack Obama and his attorney general for allegedly covering up an investigation into the death of  Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, killed as a result of the screwed up government gun-running project known as Operation Fast and Furious.

At the same time as the hearings,  House Oversight  Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and Senate Judiciary Chairman Charles E. Grassley (R-IA) released a 250-plus page report (embedded below) chronicling the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) response under Attorney General Eric Holder to the congressional investigation into Operation Fast and Furious. Not surprisingly the report demonstrates that the Justice Department obstructed (and continues to obstruct) Congress and Brian Terry’s family from finding the truth.
Fast and Furious is the name of the scandal where the “geniuses” high up in ATF, the DOJ and  possibly the White House thought it would be a great idea to sell assault weapons to the violent Mexican drug cartels, even if they were used to commit crimes. One of those guns was used to murder US Border Control Agent Brian Terry.

The Fast and Furious weapons ceded to the drug cartels have been used for other crimes in Mexico, used to kill Border Agent  Brian Terry, turned up  at the scenes of violent crimes in Phoenix, as well as at least 11 other violent crimes across the country.

Since news of the program began to emerge in 2010, the Obama administration did it’s damndest to keep the program under wraps. Finally as the House of Representatives was about to charge then-Attorney General Holder with contempt of Congress for withholding documents about Fast and Furious president Obama tried to save the day by asserting executive privilege at the last moment. Congress found the AG in contempt anyway and U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson, who was appointed to her position by President Obama ruled that Obama’s use of executive privilege was not legal.

Emails released in 2011 revealed that ATF big shots wanted to use the illegal gun sales in operation Fast and Furious to justify a new gun regulation called “Demand Letter 3”. The new rule would require  U.S. gun shops to report the sale of multiple rifles or “long guns.” The fancy name, Demand Letter 3 comes from the fact that it would be the third ATF program demanding gun dealers report tracing information. If that’s how then name projects, why didn’t they name Fast and Furious, “Asinine Project 1?”

Fast and Furious was a sick attempt to deprive Americans of their Second Amendment rights by selling guns to Mexican Gun cartels.

Today Senator Grassley  (R-IA) testified to the House Oversight committee:

We can only hope that there this is not over, and finally there may be a real resolution to this crime.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

Hmmmmmmm.... you know - that particular horse is long gone and glue by now.  Finding out who opened the door and why is a bit.... surreal.

Especially given how trustworthy the DOJ and the FBI has proven itself.

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. No probs with your analysis, but with Holder active in California and overseeing the DNC push to gerrymander every county in the nation, it's nice to keep reminding everyone just Who and What he is.

No, actually, it is the 'gift' that keeps on giving. Why? Because the southern border operation was not the only 'sting' that was "botched".

"Project Gangwalker?" More gunwalking -- in INDIANA!

Gunwalker Explodes into the Heartland

ATF Death Watch 75: ATF-Enabled Indiana Guns Went to Chicago Gangs

"Gangwalker" Fast and Furious operation in Evansville

There was more than one operation, and despite the push for additional long gun laws being tied in with the Fast and Furious "Gunwalker" operation, done with the intent not of tracking firearms or arresting straw buyers or their connections (because the firearms have only been recovered from crime scenes and criminal caches) but with providing a surge in the number of guns in Mexico that could be traced back to purchases from US gun shops for the purpose of 'justifying' further infringing the RKBA.
That is a violation of the law, a conspiracy to deprive Americans of a Civil Right.

But, in 2012, there was another operation going, out of Evansville, Indiana, which included the ATF 'requesting cooperation' from at least one firearm dealer in another 'sting' operation which included selling guns which have ended up in the hands of gangs in Chicago, a place notorious for shooting deaths that are gang related.

If that wasn't enough, while everyone was watching the 'gunwalker' operation, and "Gangwalker" got short shrift in the news, there was more!

GRENADEWALKER: Inspector General Reports Blasts DOJ For ANOTHER Fast & Furious Scandal

FOX: Issa on "Grenadewalker."

"Grenade-walking" part of "Gunwalker" scandal

Quote
Police say Jean Baptiste Kingery, a U.S. citizen, was a veritable grenade machine. He's accused of smuggling parts for as many as 2,000 grenades into Mexico for killer drug cartels -- sometimes under the direct watch of U.S. law enforcement.

For more on this investigation, visit CBS Investigates.

Law enforcement sources say Kingery could have been prosecuted in the U.S. twice for violating export control laws, but that, each time, prosecutors in Arizona refused to make a case.

Grenades are weapons-of-choice for the cartels. An attack on Aug. 25 in a Monterrey, Mexico casino killed 53 people.

Sources tell CBS News that, in January 2010, ATF had Kingery under surveillance after he bought about 50 grenade bodies and headed to Mexico. But they say prosecutors wouldn't agree to make a case. So, as ATF agents looked on, Kingery and the grenade parts crossed the border -- and simply disappeared.

Six months later, Kingery allegedly got caught leaving the U.S. for Mexico with 114 disassembled grenades in a tire. One ATF agent told investigators he literally begged prosecutors to keep Kingery in custody this time, fearing he was supplying narco-terrorists, but was again ordered to let Kingery go.

There is little doubt that the culture of corruption, of the same administration which has nurtured racial violence, if not advocated it, has been active in arming criminal elements in the US and outside our borders with weapons which can be, and have been used in the commission of murderous acts.

Holder is in the thick of this and ran interference not only for these allegedly 'botched' operations, but for the Administration which spawned them. He has, in violation of his oath of office, and under color of law, materially assisted through obstruction (at the very least) the perpetration of the very sort of crimes his office is supposed to prosecute, an egregious and grievous violation of the public trust.

That cannot be allowed to stand.

Unfortunately, that 'horse' isn't gone to glue, that sonofabitch has been put out to stud, and is still active in seeding the murder and mayhem that's coming.

Breuer's Legacy: Enshrining "Too Big to Jail" as Legal Precedent

Many had criticized Attorney General Eric Holder and Breuer for failing to take action against the mega banks on Wall Street, and watched with disbelief last December as the DOJ decided to pass on criminal penalties against HSBC for laundering drug money and helping to finance terrorists. The behemoth bank was ordered to pay a record civil fine, but no criminal charges were lodged against any HSBC official. A New York Times editorial called the decision a "dark day for the rule of law."

Who in the **** is guarding the guards?

Time to blow the whole Obama criminal enterprise wide open and hunt them to the ends of the Earth, if necessary and put them behind bars.
