You what?! Thats kinda, ok a lot, stupid.

When our (then) middle one hit 17, she got her driving license, then asked me if she could get a car. I said sure, what can you afford?  :tongue2: She did pay for it herself (I did send her to a mate of mine, so she got a good deal).

Yup. There are even dress stores that will only sell one dress style per school. You pay a premium so that princess doesn't have to experience the horror of another girl wearing her dress.  **nononono*

Ours are 5 and 3. An acquaintance just told us she spent over $5K on her two high school girls' prom. My husband and I looked at each other like hell no!

And people wonder how an entire generation of Americans became snowflakes.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

You are not any kind of 'family' member I would have anything to do with.  Not with that kind of snark and ridicule directed at those of us who value our principles more than your political expedience.

Please do remind me about the principle that cheerfully supports a full blown coup that not only places the republic in jeopardy but also discounts millions who voted for not Hillary.

Excuse you.  This so-called 'coup' is not what put the Republic in jeopardy.

A people who abandoned foundational principles for wealth and power and for the pursuit of ignorance and abandonment of responsibility did that some time ago.

The principles that have been discarded by the majority of the population and by both political parties have fundamentally transformed us from a Constitutional Republic into a Socialist Democracy under the full gaze and support of the whole people and to much applause.

Getting all upset over the natural progression of a corrupted and debased people ignorant of their history and heritage is a bit silly.

And, I'm not 'cheering' it on.  I see it for what it is and accept it: a consequence and Judgment of what we have been doing for years and decades.  The solution being as rejected in hostility as anything I have ever witnessed in this country.

Well written and I do agree

Running a thriving business since Monicagate, I witnessed firsthand how George W. Bush's policy toward border enforcement and being mute on sanctuary cities, and over-crowed schools filled with illegals.

IMO, that only strengthened the Democrats' resolve.   Not that Barack Obama needed that.

THAT is what has weakened our infrastructure, raised our taxes, and why you see beggars on virtually every intersection island with cardboard signs.

As long as the mainstream media is allowed to do this...it will only get worse.

Again, that is just another symptom of the underlying root cause and reason of where we find ourselves.  There is a particular reason THAT had happened.

Blaming the media for it all, is stupid.

"The foreigners who reside among you will rise above you higher and higher, but you will sink lower and lower." Deuteronomy 28:43

The first fifteen verses of that chapter are the how and reason we became a great nation to begin with (reference Alexis DeToqueville), and the rest of the chapter is our future, perhaps very near future with some of it already having come to pass.

You say it's "stupid".

And then you cite Bible verses to support your theory?

"The most insidious power of the media is the power to ignore"  ....Chris Plante

They control the news cycle.   Not the Bible.    ....and you cite the Old Testament to boot.     ^-^

YUP.  BINGO.

Sorry it went over your head.

I think the most insidious trick of the devil is to persuade you that he does not exist in order to ascribe it to anything but to paraphrase Charles Baudelaire.

....and you cite the Old Testament to boot.     ^-^

As if the Old Testament Scriptures that were quoted by Jesus are full of nothing but wrong.
