The White House is insisting President Donald Trump's visit to London in October include a golden carriage ride with Queen Elizabeth, The Times of London reported Saturday.

Officials warn the royal treatment, however, will require a "monster" security operation – far greater than for any recent state visit, the newspaper reported.

I think it would be wisest to defer to whatever the Brits decide is best in this case.

I'm betting that security people on both sides would prefer the armored car.

Well, here's another president who'll be an embarrassment and a joke when he visits England.

This is reinforcing the Ugly American meme.    The Queen was not amused when our Secret Service demanded a helicopter land on her lawn when Obama visited.
Once again we have a president with no sense of dignity whatsoever.

So he can feel like he's sitting in his Trump Tower crib?

The article says Obama took his armored car when he visited. But then I don't see him riding with the queen, as much as he hated the monarchy.

It also says Putin and Xi rode the 'golden carriage', so I guess we can change the term from 'ugly American' to the 'ugly non-brit' meme.

Nah. The carriage is traditional for heads of state. The Queen's presence in the carriage is not - and won't happen. Doubt she'll even leave Balmoral for the visit. She's pretty fixed on spending October up there every year.

Any particular reason this story deserves to be treated as true?

None, at this point. Trash journalism.
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!
