I used to love to see them on the Ed Sullivan show. Mostly her, though. Keely Smith was still alive and still singing a few years ago.

The Jive Aces, in the Dolce Vita video; which is obviously, about Italy, it sure looks like the Rockabilly singer from Wheels Fargo and the Nightingale, she also doubles in another band.  I see the Jive Aces also sang some with the Satin Dollz, there are a number of good current bands out there styled on the older stuff.

Oh, that singer from Wheels Fargo, her other band is the Poison Ivies and the Steadies. The Crampps of course, revived that song.

Not many hits on some of these videos but I like it.

She's got that Betty Page hair style.  Europe is nuts about this rockabilly.

Very interesting that band the Jive Aces is brought up, a lot of music is out there.

Ella Fitzgerald of course, is a household name, Sarah Vaughn recorded this in 1958, good quality recording, her voice is so silky to me. I've always like Dionne Warwick's voice as well, special even if it's usually pop.

This has been my jam of choice lately. Dokken is my all time favorite 'hair band':

I don't know why, but this song popped in my head tonite. Always found it very moving and patriotic, and makes me want to give thanks again to the guys that went to Nam and never got the parade:

Since the Friday silliness thread is Cats and Dogs this week, and the intro to this always makes me think of cats:

Maybe a song for the mods, the highway patrol of the internet, I believe this song was written back in the '60s/early '70s, I heard the original but this really seems to capture the spirit of what the song was written about.

I LOVE Annie Lennox's voice. Seems like she just throws all that vocal power out there effortlessly. I always had the feeling if she ever really cut loose there would be a mushroom cloud appear over her head.

Pink Floyd, "Seamus"

Saw her live once. It does. And the lady needs NO amplification.

Editing to add another lady with an effortless voice:

40 years ago:

Quote
March 26: Producer Felton Jarvis, desperate for new material to fulfill Elvis' contract, begins recording selected songs from the tour on a rented eight-track machine, suggesting songs to Elvis he's never performed before.
March 30: At tonight's show in Alexandria, LA, Elvis sings the first verse of "Can't Help Falling In Love" as "Wise men know when it's time to go."
March 31: Elvis cancels his second date in Baton Rouge during intermission, then flies home and cancels the last three days of the tour as well. An upset Colonel moves the canceled dates to the end of his next tour.

April 1: Elvis checks into Memphis' Baptist Hospital for "exhaustion."
April 5: Elvis returns to Graceland, with a concerned Priscilla and Lisa Marie flying in to visit.

April 13: The singer vacations in Vegas with a twenty-year-old bank teller he's just met, Alicia Kerwin. While there, he complains of labored breathing, and his Vegas doctor is flown in. Kerwin soon leaves the King after finding his mental state "too depressing."

I read one of the books on him.

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.
