@Right_in_Virginia

A link to the Washington Examiner with a fuller story was posted at #16.  What do you think about this development, RIV?

AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Well he's always supported amnesty before.

Well he's always supported amnesty before.

And he's always gotten things done before.

And has been more than words.

Quote
But the White House immediately threw cold water on any nascent movement on immigration. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer essentially shot down the notion that Trump is open to the legislation, and told reporters the president opposes the legislation.

A White House official confirmed the president is opposed to the 2013 Senate bill, noting Spicer called it “amnesty” in an announced gaggle following his briefing when describing Trump’s view of that measure. Trump, during the meeting, said he is “willing to look at” anything the Gang of Eight might come up with, and expressed his support for the group trying again, the official said.

@CatherineofAragon

Well its not the first time we've seen Trumpers support deporting citizens for the crime of opposition.

Don't you dare call them fascists though. :whistle:

Don't flatter yourself @Chosen Daughter;  it's cringeworthy.

What's cringeworthy is your total commitment to Trump no matter what.  And cute little joke about which side of the border.  Funny, not.

They just continue to illustrate that wannabe tyrants thirsty for vengeance and punishment at the hands of a dictator are not just in the Democrat Party.

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

Not at all surprising considering what Trump's real opinion about illegals has always been....
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

"Sometimes I think the Church would be better off if we would call a moratorium on activity for about six weeks and just wait on God to see what He is waiting to do for us. That's what they did before Pentecost."   - A. W. Tozer

Use the time God is giving us to seek His will and feel His presence.

I'm interested in watching how "Trump's travel ban" plays out considering how he first claimed we must take in refugees from Syria and elsewhere because its the humane thing to do.
