Fake News Alert-- Just posting this as a good example of fake news headlines and why to always check the facts. SBUX was actually pretty flat and had an upward trend until noon Friday when it dropped 4%, then leveled out. That's when the stock crashed, not yesterday when they made their refugee statement.  Gateway Pundit even posts a chart showing the free-fall came with the 1Q earning numbers, not the refugee announcement. But don't let the facts get in the way.

Quote
On Monday Starbucks Corp CEO Howard Schultz announced that the company would hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years to ease the company’s conscience.

This announcement violates EEOC rules.

And several conservatives have vowed to boycott the liberal coffee company.

Now the Starbucks stock is in freefall since the announcement.

Here is the chart they posted which shows the crash happening Friday.

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion
Hopefully Christians and Conservatives took Schultz's advice  after he told a Christian stockholder

“If you feel, respectfully, that you can get a higher return than the 38% you got last year, it’s a free country. You can sell your shares in Starbucks and buy shares in another company. Thank you very much.”

And they aren't being financially affected by his arrogance.

Starbucks CEO is anti-family and anti-America.  They deserve all and any retribution that may befall them as a company.

Does Starbucks ignore vets while helping refugees?

Starbucks (SBUX) is facing calls for a boycott on social media over CEO Howard Schulz’s plan to hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years. Critics argue that he’s helping foreigners at the expense of struggling veterans.

The Seattle-based company, though, has done quite a bit to help members of the military over the years, and evidence that veterans are losing out on job opportunities is sketchy at best.

The coffee house chain has hired 8,800 of the 10,000 veterans and active duty spouses that it pledged in 2013 that it would hire by 2018. Starbucks has dedicated recruiters who target members of the armed forces in “key focus cities,” including Washington, D.C., Seattle, and Austin.

It has also established more than 200 relationships with military bases in the U.S. and overseas and has attended more than 500 military hiring fairs that attract veterans and military spouses.

Starbucks has also hired a lot of vets; that's the rub in these situations.  I still don't care for that plan they set though for refugees.  As another example, it's hard to deny Target has not gone out of their way to help the disabled; Target also has come under fire in the past for donations to causes that would be seen as conservative.

Basically any big company including Rex Tillerson's Exxon are going to have things one likes that they do and other things one doesn't like.

I've only been in one Starbucks (Darien, CT) a couple of times.
Each time, to use the rest room and then leave.

Starbucks is full of shit. All of their growth projections are tied to opening 10K stores outside the US, 10% of them in China. With the world economy in a mess anyone really think they are going to grow at that rate? I sure don't.

BTW, they are losing foot traffic in their domestic stores because no one is going to storefronts to by stuff. That is why they rely heavily on this ambitious foreign growth model.

If you watch any of their YouTube ads, you will understand how important humor is with them.  And how little they take themselves seriously.

This claim though seems more to be a publicity stunt. The story is being spread without the indication that they aren't in the financial position to hire 10K employees, at that, possibly not even 10.  They had 21 employees in their entire company in November with less revenue than a single Starbucks store.  They are relying on clickbait type media and sites that don't research to pass the story around (aka Free Advertising), driving traffic to themselves based on what is a lie. How many Vets are jumping to send their resume to them will be disappointed?

Sites from Red State to FR to even Fox News are spreading the false story.

Is that a true statement for Chick-fil-A, the #11 restaurant chain in the US?
