Allah does not equate to "God", . . .

Looks like it's time for some basic Arabic lessons around here.

If one is speaking Arabic, Allah -- an elision of Al Illah, meaning literally "the god" -- is what any monotheist, Christian, Muslim or Jew, calls the one existing deity.  The definite article elided with the general word for a god has the same force in Arabic as capitalizing god to yield God does in English.  In Greek the same applies 'o theos, "the god" means the same as the English God.  For instance the first phrase of the Orthodox Christian Trisagion prayers, in English "Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal have mercy on us!" in Greek " 'Agios 'o Theos, 'Agios ischyros, 'Agios athanatos, eleison imas!", runs in Arabic "Qudd?sun All?h, Qudd?sun al-qaw?, Qudd?sun alladh? l? yam?t ur?amn?."

It is perfectly sound to translate "Allahu Akbar" from Arabic to English as "God is greater".

However, only Muslims will refer to God (as misconceived in their theology) as "Allah" when speaking languages other than Arabic (or Malay, where the Arabic word was adopted), following Mohammed's vain conceit that the Arabic word for God is the proper name of the one existing deity.  A Christian who is bilingual Arabic-English will say "Allah" in Arabic and "God" in English, a bilingual Muslim will say "Allah" in both.

Of course McCain is being a complete fool here -- the phrase "Allahu Akbar" is a war cry, its first use being by Mohammed's troops at the Battle of Badr in 624.  The nearest parallel I can think of for the phrase "Thank God" would be the line in the Agincourt Carol, "Deo gratias Anglia redde pro victoria!"
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

Buddhists, Hindus, Jews and Shikhs probably, with all of these faiths, there is relatively good will.  This whole scenario is different but it is a big problem with ideology.

Poor John...Slowly sinking into the abyss that is senility.

IMHO he's already sunk.  He is the epitome of the scum in the swamp in DC that needs to be drained.
"I believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey it laws; to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies." -William Page

Agree, bigly!
The equal right of all citizens to health, education, work, food, security, culture, science, and wellbeing - that is, the same rights we proclaimed when we began our struggle, in addition to those which emerge from our dreams of justice and equality for all inhabitants of our world - is what I wish for all.

Not as long as Arizona Democrats keep crossing over to vote for him.

Way back..........McCain was the subject of a recall in Arizona.   It was quite successful...........and then 9/11 put an end to the recall.   Not the time for politics at that time.
Perhaps Arizona can try again...........

Well, it is.

Except when Christians shout "Thank God" it is because someone is safe, or healed, or their life has improved.

When Muslims shout "Thank God" it is because their death cult has decapitated another unbeliever, or thrown another homo off a building, or they convinced another 10 year old girl to blow themselves up on a bus.

So he's not wrong - it just actually highlights the problem with Islam as a whole.

Exactly. - context is everything.  And in this context, it confirms their religious extremism by stating that "God wills" the murder of innocents.

Technically, that depends on the definition of "innocents".
To a Muslim one who leaves the faith is an apostate, and all others outside the faith are Infidels.
With that in hand, there are no "innocents", you are in or out.

Put up or shut up time.  Link or slink...

"So, this dictionary definition is patently wrong?"

Show me, from modern times, where Christians are praising god in any fashion  as they are killing non Christians just because they are not Christians.

Arguing semantics in this discussion is very juvenile and does not give you a win.  It just makes you sound like a middle school kid trying to change the subject and utilize a false argument because it is the only way they can stay in the discussion.

Anyone with college English behind them should be able to spot a false argument a mile away.
