BERLIN (AP)  — German media are reporting a truck has run into a crowded Christmas market in the center of Berlin, causing multiple injuries.

A truck plowed into a crowded Christmas market in Berlin on Monday causing multiple injuries and possibly one fatality, according to German media.


Both the Berliner Zeitung newspaper and the Berliner Morgenpost reported the truck ran into the market outside the landmark Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church on Monday evening.

A photo posted by the Morgenpost showed damaged tables and stalls.

The Berliner Zeitung said police believed there to be multiple injuries, but police couldn't immediately be reached to confirm.

A policewoman reportedly told German media outlet Bild that there was at least one fatality.

Both newspapers reported it wasn't immediately clear whether the incident was an accident or some kind of an attack on the market.

My wife and I were talking before we left Germany last summer that the Christmas markets would be a prime target for terrorism this year.

Assuming that's what it is in this instance looks like my prediction sadly came true.

We had dinner with some Germans last year at my wife's  continuing education meeting.  Don't trust what the media or their leaders say about Germans laying down and taking this.

We spoke with people with advanced degrees and highly educated and they said the German people, including themselves,  are near their breaking point and ready to go Nazi/SS on the Muslims and not just due to terror attacks.
