Oh, good Lord. Now the Texas electors can't get to a majority on choosing a chair.

Come on, Texas. Electoral College chair isn't a big resumé enhancer. Just pick someone and get this over with.

Leave it to Texas Republicans to have a hotly contested election for who gets to chair the electoral college session.

Yep, we tend to be ornery about such things.

Two hours and fifteen minutes later, we're actually watching Texas electors do the ONE THING THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO DO.

LOL, sounds about right.
They'll probably spend more time arguing over where the best BBQ joint in Texas is, than actually voting.

Votes tallied.  36 votes for Trump.  1 for Ron Paul.  ! for Katshit.

1 for Ron Paul? Was that the lone Hamilton elector?

LOL.. The faithless electors were mostly against Hillary. I guess she completely underestimated how much she is hated. Especially after that primary. The Bernie people hold grudges.

Ron Paul?

why am I not really all that surprised....

Still, if you are going to switch votes, at least change it to someone who was actually seeking the office this time around.

So defectors are 4 away from Hillary and 1 away from Trump?

I think the ! is supposed to be a 1, so that means two faithless. The Kasich vote was probably Suprun, since that's what he said he was going to do.

As I said before, there was one blessing out of this election: at least one of them HAD to lose.

Hillary lost five votes to faithless electors.  One in Maine (voted for Sanders) and four in Washington state (voted for other kooks).  Trump only lost two votes that way, so it's safe to say Hillary lost yet again.

That's perzackly how I felt about the election, although I confess that I preferred that HRC be the loser.

Anyway, the Trumpers will now get to see who they really elected (or, more precisely, they will see who Comey and Assange dragged across the finish line).  Many Trumpers with whom I have talked are already expressing pretty bad buyer's remorse--especially in the matter of Trump breaking his promise to put HRC in jail (but also Trump's promotion of RNC and GOPe darlings and crony capitalists and Trump's utterly stupid "re-thinking" of AGW and his very dangerous plan of adding another trillion bucks to the national debt).

Reason to take some cheer:  The stake is finally through the heart of the Clinton Family Crime Syndicate.  Yes, we now have a Trump to deal with, so remain vigilant.

Hawaii apparently had one faithless elector, too—someone cast a vote for President Bernie and VP Liz Warren.

Kinda amusing, really.  All this bruhaha and marching in the streets to strip the election from Trump and give it to Clinton...but in the end she lost more votes in the preceding 5 weeks than he did.  Would that be a "backfire?"

The Sanders voter in Maine ended up switching his vote to Clinton when the state stripped his vote if he didn't vote for her.
