Sadly this is not the first time something like this has happened.

And, there's those photos of a badly burned bison being chased by a grizzly.

No, that is the most deadly part of Yellowstone. Only auto accidents have killed more than the thermal features.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. There was a man named Richard Roose who was boiled to death during King Henry VIII's time.

I remember reading an account of it and nearly lost my lunch, in one of my history courses.

Found it on Wikipedia. Not for the faint hearted.

For any Anglophiles, or just plain curious. Do not try poison a king or one of his friends.

Wrong lesson. Do not fail if you poison the King is the more apt one.   :tongue2:

Should this thread be merged with the Chili thread?

Reminds me of a tale Pete Capstick related.

Guy went missing driving through a South African game park.

They tell visitors to Not Get Out of the Car when they let them into the park.

Authorities found his car but not him, with a window mounted movie camera pointing out toward an open field.

They rounded up his belongings and mailed it all back Stateside to his wife.

'They' didn't develop the film. His wife did and had to be hospitalized.

She played the movie film and watched him walk off about 200 yards to a small troop of lionesses who actually let him get close enough to try to pet one of them.

Then the Lionesses nailed him and ate him, on camera.

My 'Viking Hunter' High Adventure Alternate History Series is FREE, ALL 3 volumes, at most ebook retailers including Ibooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and more.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.

I believe the camera was running when Timothy Treadwell (Snackwell) was eaten by bears.

People lose track when they anthropomorphize critters. They project their feelings onto something that, in the end, sees them as meat.

Sort of the way some people anthropomorphize liberals?

Actually, I don't see too many liberals as that sort of threat, at least until the food runs out in the cities. I always saw the zombies in TWD and other shows as a metaphor for liberals.

"Brains....Brains...." or just growling/grunting noises, and NO table manners.

Leftists then.  They certainly don't see the rest of us as anything other than meat.

No, friend, we aren't just livestock for slaughter, we are the draft animals, producers, the ones who pull the plows, the harvesters, the wagons, and not to be sent off to the glue factory or the renderers until we can't work any more.

If they had their way, we wouldn't even be put out to pasture for retirement.

Yep. He did.

You can only offer a free lunch to a critter so many times before it accepts.

I only hope folks can learn from his stupidity.

Unfortunately, we're dealing with people who have a long track record of repeating stupidity (because it just wasn't done right last time), with predictable results.
