Michele Bachmann on Trump victory: ‘God did this’
BY BROOKE SEIPEL - 11/09/16

Former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) said Donald Trump's victory is " proof positive of what the Lord did."

In an appearance on “Right Wing Watch News,” Bachmann talked about a prayer circle she participated in on Tuesday evening.

“This was the moment when the whole race broke, when prayer began, when the church came out and then we see a 30-point swing here, a 30-point swing here and now we see the swing to a 95 percent chance of winning Trump,” on the New York Times election tracker.

“Already we know that the glory goes to the God Almighty, the God of the Universe, the Sovereign Lord. He is the one who did this for us.”

Bachmann said earlier in the campaign that she believes God chose Trump to run.

"I actually supported Ted Cruz. I thought he was fabulous, but I also see that at the end of the day, God raised up, I believe, Donald Trump who was going to be the nominee in this election," Bachmann told CNN in an interview in August.

Do you all remember the days when we used to laugh at Obama supporters for talking like this?

Michele Bachmann on Election Night Prayer: 'The Lord Did This'

Quote
"We have a prayer room here," Bachmann said in a video of the program, "we had people all across the United States joining with our prayer room here in Dallas in prayer, and look what happened. This was the moment when the whole race broke, when prayer began, when the church came out and then we see a 30-point swing here, a 30-point swing here and now we see the swing to a 95 percent chance of winning Trump, a five percent chance of winning Clinton. It's phenomenal!"

"Already we know that the glory goes to the God Almighty," she said, "the God of the Universe, the Sovereign Lord. He is the one who did this for us. He did, because His people got on their knees and cried out to Holy God and said, 'We can't go down this road any more, Father, we ask you for your mercy.' And this is the proof positive of what the Lord did. The Lord did this!"

If people believe that politicians were sent by God , they start believing that politician can do no wrong and should never be questioned

Yup.

We believe on this earth in Adolf Hitler alone! We believe in National Socialism as the creed which is the sole source of grace! We believe that Almighty God has sent us Adolf Hitler so that he may rid Germany of the hypocrites and Pharisees. - Robert Ley German Labor Front

Shut up, Michele. You're an idiot, and also an embarrassment to Republicans and conservatives.

Palin and Bachmann have been called the worse, by people like Bill Maher, but now there is a new Sheriff in town.

Glenn Beck urged all of this praying and fasting for Cruz; never in my mind would I call Beck an idiot for saying that, he might have even said equally flattering things about Cruz.

Saying the "Lord did this" as CBN says, sounds a bit more palatable than "God did this" even if it basically means the same.

I laugh at anyone that speaks of politicians like this, their side, our side, any side. I sure hope no one starts writing songs about Trump. The only people that "did this" are the American people, I hope they chose more wisely than they did Obama. I have great disdain for those that are so insecure they must hero worship politicians, athletes and celebrities. When someone performs acts worthy of Sainthood, or a miracle occurs, when I revel in the beauty of our world is when I  say "God did this".

Not only this, Christians did lift Trump to the nomination, giving him support.  There was an article posted showing this.

No one is calling Trump a Messiah, people are haling a stunning victory and stunning victory over the evil of the Democratic Party.

Sounds like sour grapes.

We need to be praying for America and her people that the corruption in our collective hearts will be cleansed, that we will be forgiven, and that we never, ever again have to choose between two completely ungodly, corrupt, and immoral people such as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

The lesson to be learned in this election spiritually, is that we need a revival in this nation so that no one ever mistakes the desire for political power for God's will.

I believe that the "evangelical" community will have a lot to answer for before a Holy God, for what they overlooked and even commended in pushing Donald Trump on us.

83% of the Christian vote.

LOL!   Not all Christians are 'principled', I guess.

Just ones here on the forum and the remainder who make up that 17% that didn't.

In your sarcasm, you are speaking the truth, DC.

The Scripture talks of a remnant that is true to God's word.  It's not the majority who remain faithful.

The funny thing is that these same posters are the ones who will declare that candidates need to shut up about religion unless they're praising Lil Man Donnie.

Absolutely.

I can quote many Godly people, solid Christians who truthfully talked about how immoral and ungodly Donald Trump is.

I'm sure they wouldn't get the praise that the "evangelicals" who sacrificed Biblical truth for political power always get from anti-religious Trump supporters.

And I'm not going to shut up about what Scripture really says, no matter who tries to shame me into doing it.

Bachmann mentions in her anecdote that they were praying and when the reports of Florida along with NC were first coming in, it did look like another 2012; and it is "stunning" if not saying "miraculous" how all of that did change and about 45 minutes later, all of a sudden, Trump-Pence were leading in Florida never to look back. That did happen.

Always. Wears God on her sleeve with pride. It cost her her election and she learned nothing from it.

Agree.  Believing in God's Sovereignty and permissive will allows us to believe that God knew it was going to happen and LET it happen is far from believing that this is what God wants for us.

History is replete with examples that illustrate that point.

And the discussion of why God allows bad things to happen and the problem of evil has a strong history.

I read some good stuff from the Colson Center yesterday about how it is the weakness of Christianity in America that allowed this awful choice between two awful people in this election.

If we valued integrity in America, neither Clinton NOR Trump would have been the nominees of our two major parties.

But God did allow that, just as He allowed Bill Clinton and Barack Obama to be elected.

I doubt Michele was singing the praises of Obama as God's chosen back in 2008.........

Vice President Mike Pence embodies Christian values and yes, that was basically Mr. Trump's first big decision as nominee for the party, say what one wants.  His first presidential decision.

Indeed, a theological discussion can proceed from this.

I have no problems with one saying one could see the hand of God in all of this.

Christians overwhelmingly supported Trump.
