"If we can't have our icon, we will destroy yours"

/Trump supporter.

That attitude is just more evidence they are liberals. No conservative would use Reagan as a BAD example.

Ted Kennedy tried as well to paint that false picture of Reagan.  Didn't work for him either.

In all my years as a political junkie and as a former journo, I have yet to see a single instance of a person using leftist verbage and tactics that was not later shown to be either a leftist or an actual DNC plant. Not once.

Project much? It's very simple really.

"Not my circus. Not my monkeys. I have no dog in this fight."

Time to trot out Trotsky.   He may have been a f***ing communist,  but he got this part right.

"You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you."

Thinking you can stick your head in the sand and ignore the consequences of your actions or non-actions is naive.

While you may think we conservatives may gloat over Hillary winning; you are mistaken. No mater who wins on Nov. 8 - America loses.

Maybe.   It is possible that things which are bad for America will occur if Donald Trump wins.   It is also possible  that things which are good for America will occur if Donald Trump wins.    Whether America "wins"  or "loses"  will have to depend upon the direction and scale of the good things happening versus the bad things which might happen.

It may very well be that we will come out better off rather than worse off.

With Hillary Clinton,   I see no likely hood of any good thing occurring at all.    I cannot perceive the shadow of a benefit for her acquiring power.   So by my calculus,  a Hillary Presidency is definitely a loss for America.

A Trump Presidency might be an overall loss,   but it might be an overall gain.    In the calculation between a certain loss and a possible gain,  a reasonable person would take throw his lot in with the possible gain.

There is when they pull idiocy like rejecting sound premise to aoid addressing points.

The premise I rejected was this:  "Why would YOU almost Guarantee HER election by nominating the only Republican that could not  BEAT her? "

As I have pointed out countless times,   *I* did not nominate "the only Republican that could not BEAT her" which I assume in context means "Donald Trump."

I,  my wife,  my mother,  my sister,  my kids who are old enough to vote,  voted for Ted Cruz.    It is therefore a FALSE PREMISE to assert that I "nominated"  Trump.    I did not nominate Trump.   I urged people to reconsider their support for Trump.   They listened to me about as well as  you folk now listen to me.

I made myself such a pest over at TOS that they suspended me for several weeks.   Perhaps you can now empathize with Jim Rob on this particular point?   :)

The point remains,  her premise was false,  and I called her out on making a false premise.   I rejected it because it was false.  No one else would do any less.

I could see it coming out far worse than Hillary, too.

I'm not one to say, "Obama was survived, so Hillary won't be worse," because she will have the possibility of all three branches.  But I also see Trump being such a loose cannon with ideas that are extremely disruptive to what peace and prosperity we have.

And did I now?   And in what manner did I do that?

Perhaps you can eliminate some annoyance for both of us and just put me on ignore?

If you've been following the math of Federal spending,  you quickly realize it is a borrowed peace with the credit line soon to dry up.

Things will not be able to continue in the manner that they have for these last several decades.   The math doesn't work.   The temporary suspension of reality which we have all enjoyed was always going to come to an end.   Reality always asserts itself at some point.

I think most of Trump's "loose cannon"  personality is a contrived act.   I notice he can be deliberate and methodical when the circumstances require it.   The man is no fool.   He is in fact a canny bastard who just acts like a fool.   He's playing a bit of "I Claudius" in there.

Allow me to preach for a moment.

My hopes, dreams, desires and goals are NOT political. They are not tied up in any earthly kingdom or rulers on the earth. In fact the LORD has already predetermined who will win. And I'm fine with that.

Enough of my preaching. Let's let Max preach. He's awesome.

My Prediction for November 9
 - October 11, 2016

We are really ready for this presidential election to be over. We’re ready for an end to the rancor and tackiness. Voters on both sides feel frustrated, even embarrassed by it all. There is a visceral fear, an angst about the result. What if so and so wins? When we wake up to November 9, post-election, when the confetti is swept away and the election is finally over, what will we see?

I have a prediction. I know exactly what November 9 will bring. Another day of God’s perfect sovereignty. He will still be in charge. His throne will still be occupied. He will still manage the affairs of the world. Never before has His providence depended on a king, president, or ruler. And it won’t on November 9, 2016. “The LORD can control a king’s mind as he controls a river; he can direct it as he pleases” (Proverbs 21:1 NCV).

On one occasion the Lord turned the heart of the King of Assyria so that he aided them in the construction of the Temple. [1] On another occasion, he stirred the heart of Cyrus to release the Jews to return to Jerusalem. [2] Nebuchadnezzar was considered to be the mightiest king of his generation. But God humbled and put him in “detention” for seven years. [3] “The kingdom is the Lord’s, and He rules over the nations” (Psalms 22:28).

Understanding God’s sovereignty over the nations opens the door to peace. When we realize that God influences the hearts of all rulers, we can then choose to pray for them rather than fret about them. Rather than wring our hands we bend our knees, we select prayer over despair.

Jeremiah did this. He was the prophet to Israel during one of her darkest periods of rebellion. He was called “the weeping prophet” because he was one. He wept at the condition of the people and the depravity of their faith. He was so distraught that one of his books was entitled Lamentations. But then he considered the work of God. Note the intentionality of his words:

This I recall to my mind,

Therefore I have hope.

The LORD’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,

For His compassions never fail.

They are new every morning;

Great is Your faithfulness.

(Lam. 3:21-23)

Imitate Jeremiah. Lift up your eyes. Dare to believe that good things will happen. Dare to believe that God was speaking to us when he said: “In everything God works for the good of those who love him” (Romans 8:28).

Many years ago, I spent a week visiting the interior of Brazil with a long-time missionary pilot. He flew a circuit of remote towns in a small plane that threatened to come undone at the slightest gust of wind. Wilbur and Orville had a sturdier aircraft.

I could not get comfortable. I kept thinking that the plane was going to crash in some Brazilian jungle and I’d be gobbled up by piranhas or swallowed by an anaconda.

I kept shifting around, looking down, and gripping my seat. (As if that would help.) Finally, the pilot had had enough of my squirming. He looked at me and shouted over the airplane noise. “We won’t face anything I can’t handle. You might as well trust me to fly the plane.”

Is God saying the same to you? If so, make this your prayer:

Dear Lord,

You are perfect. You could not be better than you are.

You are self-created. You exist because you choose to exist.

You are self-sustaining. No one helps you. No one gives you strength.

You are self-governing. Who can question your deeds? Who dares advise you?

You are correct. In every way. In every choice. You regret no decision.

You have never failed. Never! You cannot fail! You are God! You will accomplish

 your plan.

You are happy. Eternally joyful. Endlessly content.

You are the king, supreme ruler, absolute monarch, overlord, and rajah of all history.

An arch of your eyebrow and a million angels will pivot and salute. Every throne is a footstool to yours. Every crown is papier–mâché to yours. No limitations, hesitations, questions, second thoughts, or backward glances. You consult no clock. You keep no calendar. You report to no one. You are in charge.

And I trust you.

Circle November 9 on your calendar and write upon it the words:  Our good God rules the world.

Go on.   I'm listening.    Paint me a few scenarios.

Well, one is that he goes ahead with some of the idiotic proposals he's made.

Another is that he goes ahead with the other side he's proposed.

Another is that he does none of his proposals.

Where do we start?

He is in fact a canny bastard who just acts like a fool.

I suppose that with his Caligula act, he might be following on with Claudius, but he needs to convince me it's an act.

Which ones?   Can you give me a specific?

And he wants to increase the debt more than she.

And on what do you base this claim?  Building the Wall?   Please,  most of what the government spends money on is crap.    He could eliminate the Department of Education and no one would give a crap.  Same thing with the Department of Energy and the Department of Commerce.

You can find plenty of money for a wall project just by getting rid of worthless Departments and assorted other Federal employees.

Or did you have some other expenditure proposed by Trump in mind?

I suppose that with his Caligula act, he might be following on with Claudius, but he needs to convince me it's an act.

Caligula?   If you are comparing Trump to Caligula,  you must not have any actual knowledge of how bad Caligula was.   If the rumors are true about Hillary's sexual perversions and claimed murders,   then she will come a lot closer to resembling Caligula than Trump.

He's 70. Sometimes he likes to dress up with a toupee or wig and a suit.

Being 70, he's a bit of a bigot. Great fun when you get a few drinks in him and he still fancies himself a player.

If you've seen him, please contact local police. His current wife Melania is mildly concerned.

Before the infamous tape came out...I actually thought that this election would be a squeaker....too close to call comfortably without massive screeches of 'rigged and voter fraud'.  Now....I think it will be a Clinton landslide victory.

I think the rats did exactly what we predicted they would do from the beginning.  Use what dirt they had against Trump at the last minute (post convention).  And the rats effectively garnered and tied up the female vote in one fell swoop....even while turning off many of the die-hard Trump-supporting evangelicals.  All predicted and predictable.  All ignored by the ever-delusional Trump camp.
