CRASE training in Fort Worth - to be shown on TV
« on: September 17, 2016, 01:39:06 pm »
at 10:00 am today.  This is Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events training and it is free.

I have often wondered what I would do or how I would react or how I should react....if somebody suddenly started shooting in an area or store that I was in.  I try to avoid shopping malls, but a large retail store could also be a target some day.  Hopefully, this course will answer a few of those questions on what to do and perhaps more importantly, what not to do.

Fort Worth offering active shooter response training

FORT WORTH -- It often happens in the places we least expect.

In movie theaters. A nightclub. The streets of downtown Dallas.

Many of us have asked ourselves, "What would I do if faced with an active shooter?"

The City of Fort Worth is helping the public answer that question with a series of five free training sessions on how to respond to active shooter situations.

Each training session will have the same potentially life-saving information. Each is free and open only to Fort Worth residents.

The training sessions are based on a strategy developed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training, a program that's been used to train thousands of law enforcement agents across the nation.

A program for civilians, called Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events, or CRASE, was developed because so many people asked law enforcement for tips on how to respond in the event of an active shooter.

The sessions will be held:
• Sept. 13 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex, 505 W. Felix St.
• Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex, 505 W. Felix St.
• Sept. 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the UNT Health Science Center Medical Education and Training Center, 1000 Montgomery St.
• Oct. 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Eagle Ridge Elementary School, 4600 Alta Vista Road
• Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon at Temple Baptist Church, 6824 Randol Mill Road.

No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

Disappointing, so far.   Started quite late ....almost 20 minutes late (cameraman hung over?).  Now showing a video clip of actors in the UK pretending to be ill and collapsed on a busy city street, with apathetic passers by ignoring them.  What the hell does this have to do with an 'active shooter' scenario?

Not what was advertised.
