Poll: Clinton leads Trump in Georgia

Hillary Clinton holds a four-point lead over Donald Trump in Georgia, a state that has not voted for a Democratic presidential nominee in nearly a quarter century, according to the results of an Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll out Friday.

While Clinton earned 44 percent support, Trump took 40 percent, in the latest survey coming on the heels of a disastrous week for the Republican nominee in which he has also trailed in the battleground states of New Hampshire, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida and in multiple national polls conducted after last week's Democratic National Convention.

Clinton and running mate Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine drew the support of 51 percent of women, compared with 35 percent for the Republican ticket of Trump and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence. Six in 10 white voters said they will vote for the Trump-Pence ticket, while just 23 percent said they will vote for Clinton and Kaine.

Georgia last voted for a Democratic presidential candidate in 1992, when Bill Clinton unseated George H.W. Bush.

Trump outperformed Clinton among men, white evangelicals, as well as in the northern part of the state (59 percent to 27 percent) and in the Atlanta exurbs (51 percent to 33 percent). But in the immediate Atlanta area, Clinton led Trump 69 percent to 20 percent, as well as in the state's southeast region (44 percent to 34 percent). Clinton also holds advantages among voters between the ages of 18 to 39 (48 percent to 32 percent) and 40 to 64 (45 percent to 40 percent), while Trump leads by a significant margin among those older than 65 (54 percent to 36 percent).

In a four-way ballot test, Clinton holds a three-point lead over Trump, 41 percent to 38 percent, followed by 11 percent for the Libertarian ticket of Gary Johnson and Bill Weld and 2 percent for the Green Party's Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.

The poll was conducted via landlines and cellphones by Abt-SRBI between Aug. 1-4, surveying 847 registered voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

What should concern the Trump people is that it's this close in Georgia.  As Clinton rolls up former battleground states into her column, the new battlegrounds will be erstwhile reliably "red" states.

These polls are starting to pile up. Not only should Trump be way ahead in Georgia, he should be way ahead nationally. Hillary is the most beatable democrat candidate since George McGovern. Unfortunately the GOP decided to run the most beatable candidate since Barry Goldwater.
He has a tin ear when it comes to politics. He is running against everybody but Hillary. Almost anybody can get him off track.

Trump is proving he is insane more every day.  I watched his speech when he said he saw the film of the plane carrying $400 million dollars, land in Iran and watched the money being taken from the plane and said it was a secret location so the camera had to be an Iranian government camera and they sent the film to us to embarrass us.  He made it all up, none of it was true.

Then, the next morning, he said it wasn't that film, it was a plane showing the people released getting out of a plane.  There is no way he should be president with the insane mind he has.  He is delusional and actually thinks he saw the plane in Iran and the money being taken out.  He must not be in charge of our nuclear weapons or the money in our treasury or anything in the country that doesn't already belong to him.

I take GREAT offense at the comparison of Orange Julius and Barry Goldwater.  Goldwater was a man of honor,intellect,and patriotism. 

The alleged Republican Party should disappear just based on how they allowed,and even encouraged the left to attack one of America's greated living (at that time) heroes.

Goldwater even said himself after the election that he bore no hard feelings for those who didn't vote for him because if all he know about himself was what the media reported,he wouldn't have voted for him,either.

Damn shame we couldn't clone him and get him to run this time.

Truth to tell,the baby is more mature. I'd cry too if I had to listen to that pompous ass bray.

The baby is probably smarter,too. I'm pretty sure if the baby had been the candidate that he wouldn't have attacked an infant on live tv for doing what infants have done since the dawn of time. Even I wanted to slap some manners into Trump when I saw that on TV. Who the HELL ever heard of a politician campaigning for elected office attacking a baby?

Assuming of course that he is even teachable.
