He was joking. But if one is afflicted with TDS, truth is of no concern. Indulging their passion and blind hatred is what NeverTrump is all about. Let them frolic. However, reality is just around the corner...

And what, O wise one, would that "reality" be?  Victory in November??  :silly: :silly: :silly: :silly: :silly:

To determine what Trump is “really” saying or whether he is "joking" or not, you need the Little Fingered Donnie Secret Decoder Ring™.

However, when you decode the message, it always says the same thing - “DON’T FORGET TO DRINK YOUR TRUMPOLTINE”

“Son of a bitch. A crummy commercial”.

I agree with all of that.

She needs to apologize to everyone for inflicting her screamer on everyone else.   When we go out to eat and they are seating us we always say "no screamers please".   We  have no interest in listening to someone else's screamin' kid.   And if they sit a screaming rug rat by us we move.  Take the screamers to chuckie cheese until they grow out of it.
America needs God's forgiveness....... Even if Donald Trump doesn't think he does.

I don't know about this happening but I assume there were thousands there - how could one baby crying make a difference?  We go to a Catholic Church and sometimes a baby cries during the service.  Our pastor usually says, "There is another church member".  We like babies, I guess he doesn't.

My parents told me about the time they were at Mass when I was just a little baby.

I got fussy and was crying a bit and my mother got up to take me out of the church.

The priest, Father John, stopped in the middle of the Liturgy and according to my parents said, “Mrs. M. Why are you leaving?”

My mother said that she said, “well the baby is crying and I didn’t want her to disturb you or anyone else” and Father John said, “Jesus said to them: Suffer the little children, and forbid them not to come to me: for the kingdom of heaven is for such.”

Then he said, “I do not think that Our Lord would be offended by the crying of such a sweet and innocent baby. So she cries, and so did we all as babies. Let her stay and let her hear the Word and let everyone here rejoice and hear the sound of what must be music to Our Lord – a sweet, innocent and a beautiful child of God.”

My mother said that I stopped crying and broke out in a big smile.

Great story! Our oldest was diagnosed on the autism spectrum about 18 months ago. He is very high functioning and with accomodations, is mainstreamed for all of his classes (he'll start second grade this year). I was so scared that when the school (Catholic) called a meeting it was to tell us that Roman couldn't stay. The principal looked at me in astonishment and said, "Jesus said let the little children come to me. Why would we do anything different?" As it turns out, the school is known for its special education program.

What a wonderful story.

When I did that during Mass My Mom would pull out a Whiskey soaked pacifer and shoved in my mouth.

I smiled too!

Come to think of it  I employ that tactic to this day.  If Father is ramblimg going a little long at the Sat 5pm Mass and I feel like crying I'll take a little nip and I  smile.

When we take our family out to eat and they are seating us, we always say, "No upity curmudgeons please." We have no interest in listening to someone else gripe and complain about how miserable they feel about interacting with other human beings. And if they sit an upity curmudgeon by us we move. Take the angry-about-everything old farts to the early bird specials where the food is cheap.

Wow. I guess you never ever cried as a baby nor did any of your children or grandchildren as babies ever cry in public.

I will agree that if a baby is actually screaming, perhaps because he or she needs to be fed or have a diaper changed, the obvious thing would be for one the parents to take them out of the room and to attend to that. But this baby at the Trump rally was not really screaming.

That you refer to children as “rug rats” says a lot more about you than it does about them.

Drop the TDS for a minute and look up kibitzing...that's what blue-collar New Yorkers do. Sorry that Trump just didn't have the time to focus group this thing so that he could soothe the political purists here.

By the way, Barack Obama agrees with your characterizations of Mr. Trump and thanks you all for your support for the democratic position on Mr. Trump's insensitivity.

Sorry, I'm from New York, and I don't think you know what kibitzing means. It certainly doesn't mean what Trump did.  Maybe you're thinking of kvetching?  But kvetching is a granny grumbling, not an orange idiot calling attention to a mother who was no doubt trying to do her best.

But then again, since he and his porn star wives saw their children only when the nannies brought them in, I guess that's not surprising.

Yes, according to the article he was supposedly joking ... who though jokes like that?? Telling a mother to get her crying baby out of here?  Ha, ha!  Sorry, the comment was in extremely poor taste and I just don't see any humor.

Trump would have been much better off to show some compassion -- and told the woman, that he appreciates that she made it to see him and he loves children!  He just became a grandfather ... etc., etc.,  No the idiot tells the woman to get the baby out of here -- joke or no joke ... he has no tact or class whatsoever.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

As anyone who is married can probally vouch for "I'm just joking" is not always a good answer.

LOL!  I guess this would be funnier if the GOP didn't somehow believe it was going to win on the votes of angry-about-everything old farts.  Fortunately, I don't think there's that many of them; unfortunately, if the GOP thinks it's going to win with them, Hillary will be president.

Exactly correct.

The inevitable takeaway from this: "Trump insults baby."

We are so screwed.

Didn't you hear how the baby "viciously attacked" Trump?  Doesn't Trump have the right to respond?  Besides, how do we know that baby isn't a secret Muslim out to KILL US ALL!!111!!11!!

"No upity curmudgeons please."

When the outlawed smoking in restraunts round hear they took down the Smoking Section signs and replaced them with "Uppity Curmudgeons Only."  I have my name engraved on one of the tables.  Well, okay, I carved my name on the table with my Buck knife, but still.

Let's obsess over this stupid incident a while longer, while Hillary plots how she's going to continue every damn last one of Obama's policies for destroying America.

If you know me, you'll know I've never defended Trump - and probably never will be able to do so -  but it really seems to me we're not seeing the forest for the trees here.

Maybe he was , but When I first heard this on ABC News no mention of joking was made, nor will the other news channels. Just the draw dropping soundbite. We are living in an age when misspelling potato can end ones political career. If Trump hasn't learned this by now, he's not going to. What will tomorrow's gaff be?
