Rick Perry: Trump's Mexico wall will be a 'digital wall'

Donald Trump's proposal to build a wall along the expanse of the United States' border with Mexico is not going to happen, as far as former Texas Gov. Rick Perry is concerned. At least not in the physical sense.

"I’m for Donald Trump, and he says we’re going to build a wall, the Mexicans are gonna pay for it," Perry told Snapchat's Peter Hamby on "Good Luck America."

Hamby remarked, "It’s not going to happen."

"Well, it’s not," Perry said, explaining, "It’s a wall, but it’s a technological wall, it’s a digital wall."

Perry, who is supporting Trump, commented, "There are some that hear this is going to be 1,200 miles from Brownsville to El Paso,30-foot high, and listen, I know you can’t do that. "

The former governor had previously indicated skepticism about Trump's wall, telling a radio station in Des Moines, Iowa, in January that constructing such an edifice "will take literally years. I don’t care how good of a builder you are

Perry tried this same thing as governor, put cameras at the border and watch the illegals come across instead of stopping them.

And Big Bend and Big Bend State parks which have several miles along the river of the most gorgeous real estate in the US. Not to mention all the privately owned land that would have to be bought up. 
Not only is the funding of the wall a fantasy, but the need for it is also based in fantasy. Because as was pointed out during the debates, more Mexicans are leaving the US than are coming in. Are we building the wall to keep Mexicans out or in? 

But to these criticisms, Donald Trump says "the wall just got ten feet taller".

Rick Perry knows the topography well.  Donald Trump doesn't know the Rio Grande is in Texas.

I really hate that Perry has come out for Trump ... he was my choice in 2012 and I still like him.

Do us all a favor and use Google Earth and fly-over the entire length of the US Mexican border and tell us how a "great wall" can be built over rugged mountains, canyons, rivers?   Dessert, yes, farmland and ranches, yes if you can grab the  land from private land owners.   But the mountains, canyons, rivers?   Fantasy.

Yes I remember Perry saying he would build a fence or barrier, on one of his commercials, when he ran for his last Governor's Race.
About a week after he won, he came out and said "It ain't gonna happen".

Are we in for a repeat performance?
