This week in Congress: McChrystal talks strategy and DOD reforms

Only three weeks of work remain for Congress before a lengthy election-year summer break begins next month, and only the Senate is in town conducting business this week.
On Tuesday, the Senate Armed Services Committee will invite retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the former head of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, to testify about ways to streamline and improve strategic thinking into Defense Department operations.
At the same time, the special presidential envoy for operations against the Islamic State group will appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to discuss progress in that fight.
