Trump: Texas won't secede because 'Texas loves me'

Donald Trump on Saturday dismissed the idea of Texas seceding from the United States, saying the Lone Star State wouldn't do it because "Texas loves me."

Speaking to reporters in Scotland two days after the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union, Trump shot down comparisons between the so-called Brexit and the possibility of Texas seceding from the union.

“Texas will never do that because Texas loves me,” he told reporters at his golf course Aberdeen.

"Texas would never do that if I’m president."

Trump praised the U.K. following the vote to leave the EU, saying Friday that they “took their country back.”

Was born in Texas, lived here all my life except for one year in Missouri.  Trump is form NEW YORK.  Trump is dumber than a rock and Texans know it, and I apologize to rocks for the comparison.

As a Texan I've always thought that secession was an interesting topic of discussion but not likely to ever happen.  However, after this Presidential election, it's starting to look downright attractive.

Maybe.  Remember, Texas loves Cruz and DT has non-stop trash-talked, slandered and lied about Cruz for most of a year.  Not only has he not stopped doing so, he's continued, and then has the nerve to say that we love Donald?  Uh huh.

The last time Texas voted for a Democrat for president was Carter in 1976. I don't see it flipping for Hillary regardless of how Texans feel about the Trump/Cruz food fight

In 2008, McCain won Texas by almost 12%.
In 2012, Romney won Texas by almost 16%.
In a poll out yesterday, Trump leads in Texas by 8%.

If Texas loves Trump, we must have really been head over heals for McCain and Romney.
