Ted Cruz!

Might as well say,   1,000 Hillary Clinton campaign workers.

No... 1,000 concerned Americans who have the ability to forestall the coming train wreck that is the Trump nomination.

With the exception of Jeb, John Kasich and Lindsey Graham, anyone else who stood as a candidate during the primary would be vastly better than Trump.

Mitt or Jeb wouldn't have any delegates to represent them (OK, to be fair, Jeb has 4 delegates) at the convention. If, for example, enough delegates abstained on the first vote to prevent any candidate from reaching 1237 (no need for a rule change for this to happen), then on the second vote forward, the negotiations would take place among the existing delegates, which Cruz, Rubio, and Kasich are the other ones who have viable negotiation leverage. Both Cruz and Rubio did what Trump failed to do and make sure they established State campaign offices so they both have more 2nd vote delegates available than pledged on the first vote.

IF it gets to this, it will most likely be a race between Cruz and Rubio and I suspect a coalition will be built from that.

If I had a good candidate to put forward, I would wait until the delegate vote to push him/her.  Announcing now just gives too much time to vet and everybody has skeletons in their closet.  If Trump can be eliminated a candidate will eventually be found just like when Boehner quit.

I FULLY expect that the republicans will nominate a Republican in July rather than an imposter.

You could make a decent case for almost any of the candidates that were running in the primaries, with some exceptions.

Some exceptions being:

Bush, a bit of an "oh no, not 3 times!" problem, being a Bush family member.

Graham, why bother, just go ahead and elect a Democrat.

Carson, not sure the Clintons wouldn't eat him alive, but he may have had a decent shot.

That guy, whose name escapes me (Gilmore?), that got something 14 votes?

Pataki may have been a tough sell.

The rest had a real shot at taking down Clinton, IMO.

Look at it this way. If it happened it would end any likelihood that there would be a Trump 2020 campaign.

IMHO, it will be the end of elections in this country; our Republic won't survive.

Absolutely.  Cruz/Fiorina.  You can't tell me that Carly with all of her 'spit fire' couldn't take down Hillary.  She would have drawn the female vote and Cruz the Hispanic and conservative votes.

Now you're just being a tease.  A Rubio/Cruz ticket would be interesting.

Are we detecting a common theme here?  People who know what's coming are sending you a message.

Cruz was my pick on Super Tuesday.
I'd go with that in a heartbeat.
