Halliburton announced that it worked with Eclipse Resources Corporation to complete hydraulic fracturing of the extended reach lateral test well known as "Purple Hayes." The Utica Shale well had a lateral length of over 18,500 feet and was completed with 124 frac stages in 24 days. The total depth was 27,046 feet, including the lateral extension which Eclipse believes is the longest horizontal onshore lateral ever drilled in the United States.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

May also be the largest # of frac stages as well.

I can't tell you how nervous I would be if I had to be responsible for that hole getting fracced 124 times.

Well cost must have been way up there.  Wonder if we could get the intelligence on how much production it brought to the table?

Eclipse's management team is comprised of some finance types and COO is a geologist.

I;d bet the frac cost more than the drilling... That's a lot of frac stages, and no doubt there's a liner in there.

I'd be interested in seeing the production data on that, especially long term.
