Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently informed the Obama administration that the Lone Star State will maintain and strengthen its sanctions against Iran, according to a statement released by governor's office recently. Abbott, who was the top law enforcement officer in Texas during his extraordinary terms as Attorney General, responded to a letter from the administration of President Barack Obama requesting that Texas "review" its economic sanctions against the country formerly known as Persia. Abbott, the first native of Wichita Falls to be elected governor, further said he was strongly opposed to the Iran deal and notified the administration that he will continue to seek new legislation to "strengthen existing economic sanctions against the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism."

The Administration has received major blowback following its agreeing to the Iranian nuclear deal. One of its architects went public and boasted he had spun the treaty in such a way to mislead the inexperienced journalists who were covering the story. He reportedly said the reporters were mostly in their twenties and used to covering campaigns which was a whole different area than the Iranian nuclear treaty which effectively will allow the sponsor of terrorism to develop and possess nuclear weapons which are capable of hitting downtown New York City.
