Yes, that was quite a light show!

A firetruck and ambulance parked out there during the storm, lights on, I don't think they found what they were looking for though.

Water reached the second step of the back porch, it was a lake out there.

My dog told me a storm was coming (is hiding under the bed) but it's still sunny for now.

Looks like we're in for another round tomorrow.  Batten those hatches.

Nothing but warm breezes and mosquitos in Sugar Land tonight.

Terrific.  Looks like it's going to be rainy for the next three days, possibly starting tonight.  At least the tree cutters finally showed up at Mom's today to get those trees down before the next round.

Thanks for the head's up Sanguine.  :)

Stay dry!

May throw my annual Memorial Day brisket smoking out the window, just like last year.

Smoke it Sunday?
Yeah, I'll have 3 days off to try and squeeze it in.
But Saturday is Ice House day! LOL
Depending on the weather, could be ribs chicken, and sausage instead, but that'll do.

Forecasting rain Saturday and Monday, but it's Texas; so... They rarely get the weather right.  Maybe you'll be able to do the brisket.
Unlimited, we both know how this will work:
If I buy a brisket, it will rain all 3 days.
If I don't, we won't get a drop!

So, southeast Travis county and Bastrop county got dumped on with heavy rain and thunderstorms last night. Lots of flooded roads and some evacuations happening as the Colorado River is cresting above the flood stage near Smithville:

Hmm... must be Memorial Day coming up in Central Texas....

Over 6" of rain here in the last 24 hours and we are the lucky ones!

Yesterday was nervous-making, with my kid down in BCS. Thank God everyone was ok, but one of the subdivisions got hit.

Raining like Crazy here in Katy now.
Unfortunately, it looks like some of the places hit hard yesterday are getting hit again.
Looks like it isn't raining much at home in Sugar Land, from what the radar is showing.

I hope all of our Texas Briefers are safe and dry.  Lots of flooding around here, but it's pretty sparsely populated, so I'm not aware of any serious problems.

Looks like our Memorial Day activities and BBQs are going to need to be in a covered area!  More rain coming.

My jalapenos have managed to thrive in spite of not much sunshine lately.  I'm sitting here having nachos with thin-sliced jalapenos sprinkled liberally over them, and crying and reading the news.  They're so good!

My jalapeños get soft quicker than other years (water logged?).
Hope to fire up the smoker by Monday, maybe tomorrow.

I think we got about 4 inches of rain in Medina last night. Just saw pictures of the flooding in Bandera about twelve miles down SH 16. They got 10 inches of rain. Looks like Lake Medina is full.

My daughter was out to Fredericksburg all weekend and they were fine.

More rain this week.  It's beginning to look like a jungle!

A rough weekend:  http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/texas/article/Floods-in-Texas-Kansas-leave-at-least-6-dead-2-7952740.php#item-38489
Quote
Floods in Texas, Kansas leave at least 6 dead, 2 missing

HOUSTON (AP) — Authorities in central Texas have found two more bodies along flooded streams, bringing the death toll from flooding in the state to six.

It was unclear Sunday whether a body found in Travis County near Austin was one of the two people who had been missing in Texas. An 11-year-old boy was still missing in central Kansas, too.

The latest flooding victim identified by authorities was a woman who died when the car she was riding in was swept from the street by the flooded Cypress Creek about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Kendall County sheriff's Cpl. Reid Daly said.

The car, with three occupants, was in Comfort, about 45 miles north of San Antonio. The driver made it to shore, and a female passenger was rescued from a tree. But Daly said 23-year-old Florida Molima was missing until her body was found around 11 a.m. Sunday about 8 miles downstream. She became the sixth flood-related death in Texas over Memorial Day weekend....

We put in buffalo grass sod when we built our home. The little doggies needed a little yard space. It was a struggle to keep it alive in dry summers but now it is so tall, the little ones who do not like to get their feet wet, balk at going potty in the grass. Too wet to mow at this time. But the green is pretty.
