God but I hate that paper.  It's as yellow a rag as the NYT is.

Zuckerman couldn't unload this p.o.s. property for most any price earlier this year.   The paper was okay under Myler but since he left it's really become odious.

What made anyone in that editor meeting think that leading with a ridicule of people sending prayers for the victims of a mass murder was a good idea?   These leftists are dead in their very souls.   It was the most important topic of convo at cesspools like DailyKos and DU as well today.   Not the murder - but the reaction by well meaning folks to offer prayers for the victims, survivors and their families.

How are we supposed to live in a community with people of such bankrupt morals?

What's the White House going to say?  This is obviously terrorism and two Muslims were behind it.
Man O Man, they had those two guys on a CAIR press conference in Anaheim, in record time.

I told my wife my sense is the peaceful muslims must be getting worried, justifiably, that they are going to get some retribution.

A couple of fair questions for a press conference

--Aren't the shooters merely following the Koran, and killing non-believers as directed by the prophet?

--Aren't your comments here tonight merely Taqiyya, which is lying to protect and advance islam?

What I'm taking away from the evening press conference: Americans, the only people on earth incapable of seeing the truth as it sits in plain sight in front of their faces, and the people who are the least capable of facing reality.

2 Suspects Named In Shootings That Killed 14, Wounded 17 In San Bernardino
December 2, 2015 5:49 PM

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Fourteen people were confirmed killed and 17 more wounded in a mass shooting at a San Bernardino community social services building.

“We do have some preliminary numbers of upwards of 14 people that are dead and upwards of 14 people that are injured,” said Chief Jarrod Burguan of San Bernardino Police. The number of injured was later upped to 17.

At least 10 of the injured are reportedly in critical condition.

CBS News confirms one of the suspects is named Syed Farook, an American citizen. One of the other suspects is reportedly his brother.

RELATED LINK: Possible Suspect In San Bernardino Mass Shooting Is U.S. Citizen

According to his LinkedIn profile, Farook was a former business taxes representative for the California State Board of Equalization. He is a 2003 graduate La Sierra High School. The report also said Farook recently studied finance at California State University Fullerton until 2013.

Farook, 28, was currently an inspector for the San Bernardino County Environmental Health department and was attending the meeting/luncheon at the center. At some point, he was apparently asked to leave. It was unclear why.

The deceased female suspect has been identified as Tashfeen Malik, 27. She and Farook were married for two years.. The two had a 6-month-old baby daughter. KCAL9’s Elsa Ramon said the pair dropped the baby off to a grandparent and said they had a dentist appointment.

San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said a tip led officers to a home in Redlands. He said officers were watching that house when a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle appeared nearby. Police gave chase and those suspects — reportedly clad in “assault-style gear” — drove back to the area where the original crime scene took place. An officer-involved shooting took place where the two suspects — one man and one woman — were killed.

The shooting was first reported at about 10:59 a.m. at the Inland Regional Center, 1365 South Waterman Avenue. The gunfire erupted in a conference room where the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health was holding a banquet, said Maybeth Field, president and CEO of the social services center. She said the building houses at least 25 employees as well as a library and conference center.

Authorities were still clearing the “massive facility” as of 2:15 p.m., Burguan said.

Later he said the violence might have stemmed from some kind of workplace dispute.

“We do not have any identification on who those suspects are, we do not have any motive for the shooting at this point,” said Burguan. “The only information I have at this point is they came prepared to do what they did and that they were on a mission.”

He added it’s believed the suspects — who were armed with long guns, not handguns — had fled, possibly in a dark-colored SUV.

Around 3:15 p.m. there was a report of a brief chase between law enforcement and possible suspects. Officers — about 20 in all — pointed their guns at the vehicle as it stopped not far from the crime scene.

Sky9’s Stu Mundel reported that a “man was deceased” next to the vehicle. The vehicle was riddled with bullets.

At 3:35 p.m., Mundel listened to scanner traffic and reported that “all suspects” were accounted for; by 4:30 p.m. officials said one suspect was dead and another was at large.

An officer was reported down but apparently that officer only suffered a graze wound, according to reports from the scene.

SWAT officers made a methodical search house-by-house about five blocks from where police and the suspects exchanged gunfire.

    — Ditch (@radioditch) December 3, 2015

At a 5:35 p.m. news conference, officials said two suspects — one male and one female — were dead and another suspect was in custody.

A federal law enforcement official said that there were two assault weapons found in the suspects’ SUV — AR15 style rifles. There were also two pistols found in the SUV. Investigators are tracing the weapons to determine if they were legally purchased, where, when and by whom.

Officials said both of the dead suspects were dressed in tactical clothing and each had multiple magazines of ammunition attached to the military style clothing that they were wearing.

He also said during a scan of the social services center, at least one suspicious device was found. It was unclear if it was an explosive device.

During the chase, a piece of metal pipe was also thrown from the vehicle. Officials said that device did not turn out to be an explosive. A device found at the scene was being tested and analyzed by bomb techs, authorities said.

While no motive for the shooting was immediately known, FBI Asst. Director David Bowdich told reporters, “I will tell you right now, we do not know if this is a terrorist incident.”

CBS2’s Peter Daut spoke to witnesses who saw and heard the shootout between the suspects and police.

CBS2’s David Goldstein said Farook, save for some minor traffic incidents, had no criminal record.

Patients have been taken to several local hospitals, including Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, St. Bernardine Medical Center and Loma Linda University Medical Center. Uninjured workers were shuttled to a church in Colton.

President Barack Obama was briefed on the attack by his homeland security adviser, and Gov. Jerry Brown was also condemned the killings.

Brown issued the following statement: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and everyone affected by the brutal attack. California will spare no effort in bringing these killers to justice.”

Hundreds of people with their hands raised were seen by Chopper 9 being evacuated from the building. Many were escorted to the San Bernardino Public Golf Course across the street.

IMG_1029
CBS2/KCAL9’s Crystal Cruz said she spoke to a man who said he received several texts from his daughter Holly, who was inside the building when the shooting began.

The first text read: “Dad shooting at my work, shot people in office. Waiting for cops to catch him. Pray for us.”

The father told Cruz he texted back to his daughter, “Hide find a good spot hide now.”

Holly texted back: “I am but we are locked in an office. Cops SWAT helicopter, everything here.”

Another woman who identified herself as Monique said she received a text from her sister Gina, who was inside the building, that read: “There’s a shoot out at my work I’m scared.”

Paul Lacroix, whose son Garrett works inside the Inland Resource Center, said he told his son to hunker down, turn his cell phone off and to not make any noise.

“It’s just not good,” Lacroix said of the situation. “It’s something that we’re starting to learn to have to live with. We just have to learn to take better stands for what we’re doing.”

On speaker phone, Garrett Lacroix said that people inside the building were shook up and were being given water bottles.

“The fire alarm went off, but then someone started shouting in the halls there was a possible bomb so we were all told to get back into our office. Eventually we saw officers with vests and automatic weapons so we retreated to our room,” Garrett Lacroix said.

Garrett said a message over the intercom later instructed them to exit with their hands in the air and nothing in them.

Mark Scroggins was waiting outside the building, waiting for word of his daughter, who works inside.

“This is crazy. There’s too many shootings. too many bad things going on out here. You hear about it, but this is insane. This is crazy,” he said.

Authorities advised all motorists to stay away from the area.

The Inland Regional Center is a sprawling three-story center serving people with developmental disabilities in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The non-profit private agency, whose site crashed due to traffic due to news of the shooting, employs nearly 700 people and serves more than 30,000 residents with developmental disabilities for ages ranging from infants to seniors 60 years and older, according to the center’s Facebook page.

The agency had just celebrated with a holiday party the day before.

Several other local and federal agencies were also at the scene to assist San Bernardino Police in the incident.

One woman at the scene said she was not waiting on anyone inside the Inland Regional Center, but on her children at the nearby Norton Space and Aeronautics Academy, a charter school.

“I actually have kids at the school on the next block, and they’re on lockdown,” she said. “We can’t get them, they can’t come out. I tried going over there, but they won’t let me go.”

San Bernardino City Unified School District officials said all its schools and offices were placed on full lockdown, but that each campus was scheduled to dismiss student on time. Burguan said that federal and public buildings have also been locked down.

“As far as people in the area, we’re doing everything we can to keep this area safe. We are addressing other facilities in the area we think may be similar, but we don’t have any other information or any credible threats to any other facilities at this point,” Burguan said.

Authorities gave updates on the hour.

Dead shooter ID'd: Devout Muslim Syed Farook
Dad: 'He was very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray'
Published: 6 hours ago

WASHINGTON – Syed R. Farook has been identified as one of the suspects in the San Bernardino mass shooting that ended in the deaths of 14 victims and the killing of one male and one female suspect in a gunfight with police.

Law-enforcement sources reported that Farook was the deceased male suspect, killed fleeing in a black SUV, though the identity of the dead woman initially remained unknown. Later, other law-enforcement sources denied Farook was among the deceased suspects in the SUV.

Late Wednesday evening, San Bernardino Police chief Jarrod Burguan identified the female as Tashfeen Malik, 27. Berguan said he did not know the details of the relationship between Farook and Malik.

Farook was an environmental health specialist for the San Bernardino County government.

Farook’s father told the New York Daily News his son inspected restaurants and hotels for health violations, and was married with a child.

He also identified his son as “very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray, come back. He’s Muslim.”

Farook’s brother, whose first name is not known, is also reportedly a suspect.

Farhan Khan, brother-in-law of Farook, said at a late-night news conference, “I just cannot express how sad I am for what happened today.”

“I wish speedy recovery to them (the wounded), I am in shock something like this could happen. … I have no idea why he would do something like this. I am in shock myself.”

Regarding a report about the name of a second suspect, Rick Serrano of the Los Angeles Times originally tweeted: “San Bernardino police released the name of a second suspect in today’s shooting as Tayyeep Bin Ardogan. Reports indicate Bin Ardogan is a 28-year-old citizen of the Middle Eastern country Qatar.”

But Serrano later deleted that tweet, and posted this follow-up: “SB police clarifying that 2nd name was not released by them. Appears now to be a hoax. We are disregarding.”

Hussam Ayloush, the executive director of CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations for greater Los Angeles, said at the news conference: “We unequivocally condemn the horrific act today and we stand in solidarity with Americans.”

He added, “There is absolutely nothing that could justify” the shootings, and “we pray for the quick recovery of those who are injured.”

Gunmen killed 14 people and wounded another 17 at an office party for the county’s public health department. According to San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan, there was an altercation that prompted someone to leave in anger.

Some news outlets reported that the angry person came back with one or more armed friends to carry out the attack.

“Someone did leave, there was some type of dispute at the party but we have no idea if those are the people who came back,” Burguan said.

Farook is citizen of the United States, according to multiple reports. It’s not known if the man and woman were related or how they knew each other.

The shooting occurred during a Christmas party being held by the San Bernardino County public health department, which had rented a room at the Inland Regional Center.

The name was used on police broadcasts as a possible suspect in the moments after the shooting.

A witness said he had left the party and returned with another person and began shooting.

At about 11:40 a.m., an officer told dispatchers a witness said a male left the building “out of the blue,” and 20 minutes later the shooting started. The witness said he matched the physical description of one of the shooters and was acting nervous before leaving.

“I haven’t heard anything. He worked in a county office,” Farook’s father told the Daily News. “He’s married and has a kid. We’re estranged because my wife got the divorce, and they are together. She doesn’t want to see me.”

Carling....please think about it.

It was BOTH work place violence, and Muslim terrorism.

If it was solely terrorism, then the killings wouldn't have been limited to only those inside that conference room.  Syed Farood was employed by the company holding the luncheon.

Nothing so different than a postal worker back in the 70s and 80s, "going postal".

Syed Farood went postal.

That said, should it be divulged that they screamed Allahu Akbar, like Major Nasan during his crimes....I'll reconsider my position.

Media Races To Make San Bernardino Shooting About Planned Parenthood [VIDEO]

Posted By Blake Neff On 5:11 PM 12/02/2015 In | No Comments

Just minutes after reports emerged of a shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., members of the media quickly began to draw a dubious connection between the shooting and Planned Parenthood, even though the nearest clinic is about a mile away and there is no evidence it is involved.

In fact, Wednesday’s shooting took place at the Inland Regional Center, a facility that mainly provides services for the disabled. The three shooters remain at large and their motives are unknown.

Despite the general lack of information, members of the media and general public quickly moved to note that a Planned Parenthood exists in the general area of the shooting, thereby implying the shooting could be a copycat attack on Planned Parenthood similar to the one carried out last week in Colorado.

CNN, for instance, quickly speculated on the air that Planned Parenthood might be the target, even after acknowledging the shooting didn’t happen there.

WATCH:

CNN trying to politicize the shooting. Reporter: Not at a Planned Parenthood facility. "Is there one nearby?" pic.twitter.com/KMThbrloXi

    — Hair (@SHannitysHair) December 2, 2015

“San Bernardino’s Planned Parenthood is about one mile south of the 1300 block of South Waterman,” mentions Marketwatch, for no clear reason. Raw Story similarly makes a throwaway mention to Planned Parenthood’s proximity. RT’s write-up mentions in its first paragraph the shooting’s location is “around the corner” from a Planned Parenthood.

Alan Colmes, a former Fox News contributor and host of the Alan Colmes Show on radio, saw fit to make an entire blog post about the Planned Parenthood’s proximity to the shooting, even though he explicitly notes the shooting didn’t happen there.

Dozens of random Twitter users and minor news sources ran with the narrative, suggesting the shooting could be a copycat attack despite the lack of any real evidence:

#BREAKING: Shooting in San Bernadino is at or Near a Planned Parenthood Clinic – https://t.co/7Q8uBPMi0D pic.twitter.com/kcpA1mRlT2

    — Breaking911 (@Breaking911) December 2, 2015

Thought: Did #SanBernardino shooters mean to hit Planned Parenthood but hit IRC instead? I'm told it's closeby.

    — Kyle Jorrey (@KyleBJorrey) December 2, 2015

While several descriptions make it sound like the shooting location is reasonably close to a Planned Parenthood, in fact this isn’t the case at all. A quick look at a map reveals that Planned Parenthood is about a mile away, with a river, golf course, and dozens of buildings in the way:

The purple dot is where the shooting took place. The red dot is #plannedparenthood. Let's shut up & wait for facts. pic.twitter.com/3iTau7ySUJ

    — Savannah (@thesavvy) December 2, 2015

Other users quickly expressed dissatisfaction with the media for its early framing of the incident:

.@FoxBusiness is getting as bad as other #MSM. Mass shooting in San Bernardino, and they report it's "NEAR" a #plannedparenthood. Really???

CNN Guest: San Bernardino Office Holiday Party ‘May Have Been Offensive’ to Muslim Gunman
By Curtis Houck | December 3, 2015 | 12:57 AM EST

Just when the liberal media’s extrapolations concerning the motives of the San Bernardino gunman couldn’t grow any more jaw-dropping, an expert appearing during the 11:00 p.m. Eastern hour of CNN Tonight predicted late Wednesday that the office holiday party where the shooting occurred “may have been offensive” to the Muslim gunman.

Criminologist Casey Jordan was called on by host Don Lemon and began by suggesting that the “[d]isgruntled employee” appeared to “have Arabic or Middle Eastern names, but the key is that from the beginning everything that was reported about him, going into this conference room where there was a holiday party which may have been offensive to him.”

Jordan further opined that “the bottomline is the motivation always appeared to be intrinsic not, extrinsic” and “he was prepared for this” because “it was almost like he was looking for an excuse to go get the guns, get the female getaway driver — you know, put on his fatigues and let it look like terrorism.”

She agreed with other guests in analyzing the situation as “a mash up” or “amalgamation” of “terrorism and disgruntled employee” and reaffirmed her belief that “his motive was very intrinsic,” “personal,” and “about a grudge and it looks like terrorism and he might like that, but it isn’t what it’s about.”

Overall, it’s been quite a day of rushing to conclusions on CNN. As this writer wrote earlier, CNN law enforcement analyst Tom Fuentes predicted in the 4:00 p.m. Eastern hour that it was likely carried out by “an anti-government domestic militia group” while fellow law enforcement analyst Harry Houck pointed out in the 7:00 p.m. Eastern hour that those responsible “could be some right-wing group, for all I know.”

The relevant portion of the transcript from CNN Tonight on December 2 can be found below.

    CNN Tonight with Don Lemon
    December 2, 2015
    11:48 p.m. Eastern

CASEY JORDAN: Disgruntled employee. They can have Arabic or Middle Eastern names as well, but the key is that from the beginning everything that was reported about him, going into this conference room where there was a holiday party which may have been offensive to him. But the bottomline is the motivation always appeared to be intrinsic not, extrinsic. Still, he was prepared for this. He didn’t — you know, it was almost like he was looking for an excuse to go get the guns, get the female getaway driver — you know, put on his fatigues and let it look like terrorism. So, I’m in total agreement that terrorism and disgruntled employee can be a mash up. This can be an amalgamation of both, but I really do think his motive was very intrinsic. It was personal. It was about a grudge and it looks like terrorism and he might like that, but it isn’t what it’s about.

New York Daily News Trashes ‘Cowards’ for Praying in Wake of CA Shooting; ‘God Isn’t Fixing This’
By Curtis Houck | December 2, 2015 | 11:31 PM EST

As if they didn’t have any shame already, the far-left New York Daily News tabloid gave readers on Twitter a sneak peek of its Thursday cover in which it lashed out at God-fearing people as “cowards” for praying in the wake of the San Bernardino, CA shooting when, in their minds, “God isn’t fixing this.”

Below the top headline of “14 dead in California mass shooting” and in between tweets from House Speaker Paul Ryan and Republican presidential candidates Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, and Rand Paul, the paper declared in all caps: “GOD ISN’T FIXING THIS.”

The disgraceful front-page then ended with this rant at the bottom: “As the latest batch of innocent Americans are left dying in pools of blood, cowards who could truly end gun scourge continue to hide behind meaningless platitudes.”

Of course, this paper has had a frequent habit of publishing controversial and disturbing covers (with a few just within the last year). As my colleague Tom Blumer chronicled on November 23, the covers from that day and November 18 smeared the National Rifle Association (NRA) and longtime executive Wayne LaPierre as somehow enabling Islamic jihadism.

The day after the horrifying murders of two WDBJ-TV journalists in Roanoke, Virginia on August 27, the paper hyped how the slain journalists were “executed on live TV” with three graphic pictures of on-air reporter Allison Parker being shot dead by the deranged gunman.

Moments after the Ferguson grand jury decision was announced on November 24, The New York Daily News released a mock-up cover that read: “KILLER COP GOES FREE.” Eventually, it was changed to instead read: “Michael Brown slay cop not indicted; Nation holds its breath; Prez calls for calm as Ferguson burns.”

You're a joke at this point.  If that bans me, so be it.  I consider you my enemy in terms of saving this country.  Your hysteria over Trump's words (I'm a Cruz supporter if it matters) versus you never calling out Obama nor Hillary makes me wonder about your intentions for posting here.

I am asking you to please stop this, Carling.  Please.

The Daily News is desperately trying to help Hillary...who had a VERY bad day today.

They're also bleeding readership. If this trend continues it won't be long before that paper is defunct.

Hillary, the quintessential political opportunist, jumped in front of this with her gun control tripe.  Yet, the Daily News does her bidding despite existential threats slapping us in the face.  And, large portions of the left lap it up willingly.

Why should he stop this? I'm totally enjoying it. The poster addressed by Carling has been trash talking members for weeks, if not months. He has it coming if you ask me. Maybe this will shock him into simply addressing his own position, rather than insulting other members for their positions.

Just an additional comment now I've caught up:

Terrorists are still people (hard to believe). They still have personal animosities and personal likes - was a suicide bomber in Afghanistan that refused to go through with it (and was caught) because someone he knew and liked from childhood was in the market he was to target, for example.

So there is absolutely no conflict between it being an activated terrorist cell AND a disgruntled employee. It can quite easily be both - cell is activated and the PO'd employee sets the target to clear some personal scores at the same time.
The universe doesn't hate you. Unless your name is Tsutomu Yamaguchi

Do Body Armored People Wearing Masks with AK-47s Who Shoot & Kill 14 People at an Office Christmas Party Give a Damn About Common Sense Gun Laws? UPDATE

By Aaron Goldstein on 12.2.15 | 8:19PM

Within minutes of being informed of the shooting during an office Christmas party in San Bernardino, California which has claimed 14 lives, President Obama called for "common sense gun safety laws"?

Never mind that we don't know who the assailants are. Never mind that at least one of them might be still at large. Never mind that we don't know if the weapons in question were legally obtained. Does anyone honestly believe that men who are prepared to don masks, body armor storm an office Christmas party kill innocent people in cold blood give a damn about "common sense gun safety laws"? Such men are not in possession of common sense, much less decency.

President Obama can believe "this just doesn't happen" in other countries all he wants even as he said those words in Paris. Last I checked, France has more stringent gun control laws than we do. It didn't do very much for the concertgoers at the Bataclan or the staff at Charlie Hebdo. Whether it be in San Bernardino or Paris, evil respects no law.

UPDATE: Following a press conference, it has been revealed two assailants were killed following a confrontation with local police. One of those assailants was a women. A third suspect is in custody. Their identities have not been released.

This is a **Breaking News** thread which has been very informative with up-to-date developments.  I respectfully and politely asked a fellow member to not pollute it or distract from it in a certain manner.  I guess I must have been wrong.  Maybe we can find a way to make it about a certain Presidential candidate.

For now, I will seek my information elsewhere.
