« on: January 18, 2015, 10:06:53 pm »
After starting with >13,000 possibilities, the 6th annual Best Of Today's Toons is over & all the votes have been tallied. Neither hanging nor pregnant chads were encountered & Diebold equipment was not used. First, a few stats. 13 of the 38 finalists received 1st-place votes. There were 16 valid entries received & thanks to all of you who took the time to vote!! Votes were cast, in order of preference, for between 1 & 10 of the finalists. Cartoonists Glenn McCoy(5), Michael Ramirez(4), Stilton Jarlsberg(3), Eric Allie(2) & Mike Lester(2) had the multiple items in the finals. The method of scoring was as follows: A 1st-place vote received 10 pts., a 2nd-place vote earned 9 pts., ..., down to a 10th-place vote which got 1 pt. And now, the results:

I think we have an appropriate winner.  All in all the collection is a great representation of the year in conservative humor.  Thanks for all your great work, Pookie!  You are a true patriot.  We cannot say that enough.

From 1st & 6th place winner Michael Ramirez:

Thank you. I am honored to have been selected and grateful for the support of your readers and the virtual trophies. I will spare you the virtual acceptance speech and instead, thank everyone at both sites for fighting the good fight and for getting the truth out. The only people more incompetent than this administration is the Washington press corps.

This coming election cycle will determine if the radical transformation or "change" of our grand Republic will become permanent. Keeping the masses informed will play an integral part in the next election. Obviously, the mainstream media refuses to do its job, so that leaves it up to us.

I will have a new book coming out in the fall illustrating the damage done by this unlawful administration. It will be released through Simon & Schuster's  Threshold editions and is titled, "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Obamacare." Let's hope all we do has an impact on our national political dialogue and perhaps, opens some eyes and minds.

Keep up the great work and best wishes.
