So, the same writers as wrote Skyfall. That's a bloody shame. Skyfall maybe one of the worst Bond films in franchise history – and that's even taking into account the Roger Moore years, and...I almost forgot, Quantum of Solace (any wonder?). Let's hope the writers will do better with Specter.

Of course, after seeing the quintessential Bond in Casino Royale – which is the greatest 007 in the entire film series – writers have a very high hurdle, indeed.

I like Goldfinger among all of them.  Also enjoyed Thunderball.

The rest?  Not so much.

Goldfinger is a sentimental favorite and one of my top 5 favorites.

I'm a major, major Bond fan. I have a half dozen original Connery theater posters, several of the Omega 007 edition watches, and several original props. (bucket list is an Aston Martin) I hate to be contrarian but I loved Skyfall, although Casino Royale did out-do it. Goldfinger is still considered the best of the bonds. The reboots have been great. I was a bit disappointed with Quantum, but coming after Casino it has a big expectation that would be hard to fill continuing with where it left off. I am thrilled to see Spectre back. Mr White continuing his character has me intrigued as to how he ties after being affiliated with Quantum.

Just this past weekend I watched Skyfall again to see if my impression when it was released last November was somehow wrong – maybe I got a hold of some bad Jujubes or something.

No, my first impressions were confirmed. I had to stop watching three quarters of the way through.

I think even On Her Majesty's Secret Service was better than Skyfall. Just my opinion, though. Your mileage may vary.
