Life on the Border: Trespassing Immigrants Damage Fences, Disrupt Game Hunting

Josh Siegel / July 23, 2014

ENCINO, TEXAS—Far from the border, Ronnie Osburn, manager of the Tepeguaje Ranch in Encino, Texas, says illegal immigrants trespass his property to avoid a highway checkpoint and make it to Houston—and beyond.

In the follow-up to The Daily Signal’s “Life on the Ranch” video, Osburn describes how trespassers vandalize the wired fence that lines his property, disrupting game hunting that occurs on the 12,500-acre ranch.

“It’s just another thing we have to put up with,” Osburn said. “That’s the way it is here. We just come to terms with it, and that’s what we’re going to have to live with from now on.”
