About a dozen women gathered downtown outside the Target Corp. shareholder meeting at Union Station to call on the company to prohibit the open carry of guns in stores.

Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, the group advocating for gun reform, called the gathering a “stroller jam,” though there was only one stroller for much of the protest.

The dozen women held signs that said things like “Texas moms expect more,” a play off of the company’s slogan, “Expect more. Pay less.”

“We’re asking them, like we did successfully with Starbucks and Chipotle, to put a national policy into place that covers states like Texas where open carry of guns is allowed,” said Stephanie Lundy, Texas spokeswoman for Moms Demand Action.

So far, according to the group, about 200,000 people have signed a petition to ask Target to change its policy.

200,000 signatures? Say, isn’t this the same group who erroneously claimed  a few days ago that there’s been 74 school shootings since the Newtown massacre?

Actually, there hasn’t been 74 school shootings in the entire history of the country.

But maybe they were talking about some Islamic country where girls are forbidden to learn to read or write. Places where female students are routinely shot, stabbed, hacked to bits, burned alive or herded off as slaves to be sold as child brides.

Maybe these bossy babes need to get their priorities straight.
