Two Concealed Carriers Stop Mall Shooter

Posted By Philip Hodges on May 20, 2014 | 0 Comments

Here’s a story that won’t make it to the mainstream media, mainly because it shows the importance of carrying concealed guns. The only kind of stories like this that are allowed to be reported on, on a national level, are mass murders that can be blamed on some lone nutcase, preferably committed with several black and really scary looking guns.

Cases that show someone responsibly using a gun to stop someone else from murdering are ignored. The media wouldn’t want their viewers to get the wrong idea. They need to keep their viewers scared to death of guns.

Here’s the local story from Fort Smith, Arkansas, reported by 4029-TV:

Fort Smith police confirmed one person was killed and another wounded after a shooting in the parking lot of Central Mall on Saturday.

Cpl. Patricia Sullivan said Monday that 34-year-old Fadi Qandil was killed in the shooting outside Central Mall and 27-year-old Grayson Herrera was wounded.

Police said Qandil approached his estranged wife, Tabitha Qandil, 31, who was with two men, 27-year-old Dustin O’Connor and 23-year-old Grayson Herrera.

Herrera and the other man also pulled out handguns and the three exchanged gunfire with Qandil and Herrera being hit.

No charges have been filed against the two men. Authorities believe the shooting was in self-defense. There was no history among the three men.

Grubbs said there was a previous record between Qandil and his wife for domestic problems.

An off-duty police officer and a police officer working mall duty heard shots and responded, according to police.

Herrera is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was injured in the shooting.

Sullivan says the investigation is not complete and that no arrests have been made.

Fadi likely planned on the mall premises being a gun-free zone. He probably expected to be the only person with a gun. It’s because there were two citizens with concealed guns that Tabitha is still alive.
