Anyone with an I.Q. greater than that of a door knob can easily see that the ant-gunners are, at best, mildly retarded.

A quick Google search can prove every anti gun groups “facts” to be completely fabricated.  There is the 90% myth that 90% of Americans want more strict gun control.  There is the blatant lie that “mass shootings” are on the rise.  There is the ever hilarious thought that banning “assault weapons” will somehow reduce the number of murders and deaths of children.  Of course last but not least, there is the completely unprovable “fact” that “gun control saves lives.”

Lets start with the 90% myth.

The anti-gunners still regurgitate this number even though it has been proven to be completely false.  The truth of the matter is that, according to a recent McKeon & Associates poll, only about 40% of Americans feel that extended background checks are necessary, while over half (53%) said they were not.

Mass shootings on the rise?  I don’t think so.

Grant Duwe, a criminologist with the Minnesota Department of Corrections who has written a history of mass murders in America, said that while mass shootings rose between the 1960s and the 1990s, they actually dropped in the 2000s.  Mass killings actually reached their peak in 1929, according to his data.  He estimates that there were 32 in the 1980s, 42 in the 1990s and 26 in the first decade of the century.

Boston’s Northeastern University criminologist, James Allen Fox states, “There is no pattern, there is no increase.”  Fox has been studying mass shootings since the 1980′s.

Those along with other government studies end with the same results.  Mass shootings are not becoming more frequent.

Banning “assault weapons” will reduce crime and murders.

Yet another lie that has been regurgitated by the anti-gun zombies.

Lets first define “assault weapon.”  The term “assault weapon” is an anti-gunner spin-off of the U.S. military’s definition of assault rifles.  The U.S. Department of Defense has long defined assault rifles as fully automatic rifles used for military purposes.  Those rifles have been illegal for public sale for a very long time.  Civilian purchased AR-15′s and AK-47′s do not fit that description.

According to the Department Of Justice’s studies of the original 1994 assault weapons ban, “We were unable to detect any reduction to date in two types of gun murders that are thought to be closely associated with assault weapons, those with multiple victims in a single incident and those producing multiple bullet wounds per victim.”

According to a Pew Research Center analysis of government data, gun homicides have dropped 49% since it’s peak in the 1990′s.  That is not bias data, that is based strictly off of government numbers.

In addition, the study says, “At best, the assault weapons ban can have only a limited effect on total gun murders, because the banned weapons and magazines were never involved in more than a modest fraction of all gun murders.”
