The Constitution of the Iroquois Nation
« on: November 16, 2013, 12:57:30 pm »
Ever wondered where the United States Constitution came from?

Yeah, I know, Founding Fathers, educated men all, picked and chose the best aspects of European law, going back to ancient Greece and Rome (Why else do you think it's called "The Senate?") and used an astounding amount of common sense in putting it all together.

But the core document, the entire framework on which the rest was built, was home grown. Not by the settlers. Not by the patriots. By the 5 Nations.

Someone got around to digitizing their constitution. It is a fascinating read.
