The moment the polls opened in Virgnia on Tuesday morning, early birds made their way to go vote. In the swing county of Loudoun, where residents were told there was a county-wide connectivity problem causing issues with the electronic validation system, about 100 people waited in line to cast their ballots for governor among other elected offices. According to one caller to WMAL's Mornings on the Mall from Lovettsville the parking lot was "packed" before the polls even opened.
On the other hand, a polling place in Arlington County in Clarendon opened up to a very short line of about 12 to 15 people and the wait in line as the polls opened was only three to five minutes long. This area of Virginia is a solidly Democratic enclave of the Commonwealth.
