Palin heads to Iowa
« on: October 14, 2013, 08:35:42 pm »

Sarah Palin is heading to Iowa.

The former vice presidential candidate will make a foray into the state that will hold the first presidential nominating contest in 2016 to speak at the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition’s fall fundraiser, the Des Moines Register reported Monday.

Utah Sen. Mike Lee is listed as the keynote speaker on the invitation to the Nov. 9 event.

A pilgrimage to Iowa by a politician is generally viewed as leaving the door open to a possible presidential bid.

Palin joins a parade of potential Republican 2016 hopefuls who have been traveling to the Hawkeye State in recent months, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, who will keynote Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad’s birthday party fundraiser the weekend after Palin’s speech.
