I read recently where once again they were going to enforce the law pertaining to networks being able to broadcast commercials at a louder volume than the actual program you are currently watching at the time.

And also recall reading about it more than ten years ago.   IOW....it must be difficult to enforce.

That said, the funniest one I heard was about 2AM while getting up out of bed to use the bathroom....all of a sudden I hear what sounds like a SWAT team outside the door with bullhorns....telling me that there's a pill that will allow me to pee better.

Wanna hear something REALLY funny.

I have DISH Network.

I have two satellite boxes - one in my office which operates the TV in my office and my bedroom and one in my workout room which operate the TV there and in my kitchen.

As long as my tv in the office and/or bedroom are on the same channel as the TV in the kitchen and both are on HD or SD then the sound is synced........ BUT for the longest time I've noticed when a commercial comes on they don't match up and it was really flumoxing me and then I  :pondering: :pondering: :pondering: finally figured it out... the two boxes shows two different commercials on the same channel on the different boxes at the exact same time and then sync back up for regular programming....

Oh, wow, I experience a similar phenomenon with my cable, major difference being that the 2 TVs (in different rooms) show exactly the same material at exactly the same time but one of the TVs lags behind the other a few seconds in sound. So if I go from my office to the living room with headphones on, the sounds do not synchronize.

Hey, this place ain't Versaille. The 2 TVs aren't in a direct line but they aren't that far apart, either.

I wonder if I can get my story on "Unsolved Mysteries"?

Are the two TV's on the same satellite box?  If one TV is on HD and the other on SD they will be out of sync.  But two different commercials on the same channel at the same time just two different SAT boxes???

Also the headphones may be converting to SD from HD?

Rapunzel, I have given this post some serious, serious thought and have decided I have no idea what you are talking about, but I do know it turns me on when you talk hi-tech.

P.s.. Thank you anyway but, no, I don't want you to 'splain it. Some things in life best remain a mystery...and, besides, my electrons are running amuck enough already due to that post above.

Three Guys Go to Heaven

Three guys die and end up at the gates of heaven, talking to St. Peter.

"So," Peter asks the first guy, "how many times did you cheat on your wife?"

"None. I had a perfect marriage."

"Great," says Peter. "You get to cruise around heaven in a Mercedes. And you, how many times did you cheat on your wife?"

"Only twice, I think," says the second guy.

"Okay. You get to cruise around heaven in a Cadillac. And you, how many times did you cheat on your wife?"

"12 times. Maybe 13," says the third guy.

"Okay," says Peter. "You get a rusty Ford."

Later that day, the guy in the Cadillac sees the guy in the Mercedes crying.

"What's wrong?"

"I just saw my wife."

"So?"

"She was riding a skateboard."

"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

THE PERFECT HUSBAND

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A cellular phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands-free speaker function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen.

 MAN: "Hello"

WOMAN: "Hi Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?"

 MAN: "Yes."

WOMAN: "I'm at the shops now and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only $2,000; is it OK if I buy it?"

MAN: "Sure, go ahead if you like it that much."

WOMAN:"I also stopped by the Lexus dealership and saw the new models. I saw one I really liked."

 MAN: "How much?"

 WOMAN: "$90,000." ;

MAN: "OK, but for that price I want it with all the options."

WOMAN:"Great! Oh, and one more thing... I was just talking to Janie and found out that the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They're asking $980,000 for it."

MAN: "Well, then go ahead and make an offer of $900,000. They'll probably take it. If not, we can go the extra eighty-thousand if it's what you really want."

WOMAN: "OK. I'll see you later! I love you so much!"

MAN: "Bye! I love you, too."

The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths wide open.

He turns and asks, "Anyone know whose phone this is?"

Words of wisdom from a FB friend (who even now is probably explaining herself to the Secret Service)

Quote
The skunk has replaced the Eagle as the new symbol of the American Presidency. It is half black, half white, and everything it does stinks.

Old Proverb: If you give a man a fish you will feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime!

New Obama Proverb: If you give a man hope of getting a job, he will vote Democrat for a year! If you give a man a welfare check, a free cell phone, free internet, food stamps, section 8 housing, free contraceptives, ninety-nine weeks of unemployment, free health care and free medicine...He will vote Democrat the rest of his life and several more times after he's dead.
